  2. Thank you for this, Victor.

    My hubby is a bagpiper.

    This made my heart sing.

    Cool harmonica too. 😊

  3. Unfortunately hearing is not my best SENSE! I miss hearing REAL sounds, all mine are mechanical, but at least I hear. LOL

  6. Dearest Victor,
Wow, your breath from 2011 and I'm your 49th viewer/listener.
My Dad used to play the harmonica a lot!
    Fond memories...
At certain official events they do play the Auld Lang Syne on bagpipes.
Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. I wish I could play the harmonica better, Mariette. It is difficult to play and see the various little holes at the same time. I tried also to play the piano by ear; I was told to use my hands instead because the piano lid kept falling on my head.

I bet your Father played much better than me.

Auld Lang Syne is often played on the bagpipes in the New Year in Scotland. It is a marvellous celebration in the gardens on Prince's Street. You can see the gardens in the opening photo, and also at times 1:37 to 1:55 on the video with Edinburgh Castle high on the hill.

I spent many a good time there. Have you been to Edinburgh?

With fond wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year to you and Pieter and your whole family.

      God bless you all always.

    2. Dearest Victor,
No, I've only been to Manchester and from there to Dublin, Ireland for consulting together with Pieter. Not to Edinburgh...

    1. Thank you so much for your good wishes, Mevely. Yes, it is a nice but sad song in a way.

Here's hoping you and your family have a wonderful New Year filled with hope, love, good health and happiness. God bless you all.

  8. Although I loved the bagpipe version with all the scenery, I really liked the simplicity of your harmonica. Thank you for sharing both here as the Gnu Year approaches.
Just to let you know, your blog is showing up much later than usual in my feed. Have no idea what could have caused that glitch. Plus, I haven't been on MeWe this week - I came down with a cold/cough on Christmas Day, so have avoided what media I can as I have to stand at my computer. I know you understand, Victor.
    Blessings in the New Year!

    1. I am praying that you are soon feeling better and fully recuperated, Martha.

As for the delay in receiving my Blog posts; the last time this happened to one of my readers I discovered that my chair had inadvertently been placed over my Internet cable and all the messages were being bottle-necked there. As soon as I moved my chair all my Blog posts moved freely. I'll check again any hold-ups at my end.

To avoid this happening to me; my techy guy has created a file with the the addresses of all my Blog friends. So I don't need any feeds ... all I do is open the file every day and visit all the Blogs there whether people have posted or not.

May I wish you and your family a blessed New Year filled with everything you desire for yourself and all those you love.

God bless you and yours, Martha.

  9. Hi, Victor, haven’t been here for a while. My health battle continues, and I just came home from hospital yesterday. Both of these were lovely, however; I loved your harmonica best. Happy New Year to you and yours with blessings that only God can give.

  13. The pipes are beautiful, but the harmonica brought tears to my eyes. My dad used to play harmonica when I was very little, the memory is so old now, summer evenings on the back porch while we kids played in the dusk. Happy New Year.
