Happy Thanksgiving, Victor!
Thank you for sharing that video! It is nice for a change to hear your voice instead of reading words on a computer screen. I think you may be right . I will have to listen to it again to fully get the jist of what Jesus was saying about 'the poor will always be with us' . I like how you set it up as a shadow . nice touch. Peace and blessings Victor!
Hi Elizabeth and Jackie,Thanx for visiting me and for your comments.I've often wondered what Jesus meant by the poor will always be with us. Perhaps He was teaching us about a wider poverty, and not just material poverty.God bless.
Thanks for this perspective, Victor. I never thought of it this way, but perhaps Jesus was speaking of a more broad spectrum poverty. The saying: "Share the wealth" kept coming to me as I listened to your reflection. If we all shared from whatever we are wealthy in, no one, or at least fewer, would ever do without.God bless!
When we do as Jesus commands and love others, using the talents he gave us, our reward is great. I think of myself as rather lazy when it comes to my own housework, but when I need to make meals for a sick friend or help clean house, I am very energized. It feels like worshiping God with my hands and feet. Victor, I think YOU are wealthy in spirit, and you are a very good steward in all the encouragement that you share, both on your own blog and in supporting others on their blogs.
Victor,I really enjoy these videos that you make. I never quite thought about poverty from this angle but it made very good sense to me. After listening I realized that it's true - we are all impoverished to some degree and we also have areas where we are rich and we can share this richness with others. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
Very poignant message for me personally Victor. I am glad that you are on blogger as well. You bring Jesus to us, each in our own needed way. God bless you.
Hi Karinann, Sarah, Mary and Shadowlands,Thank you so much for writing in. I think, as Karinann said, Jesus was perhaps speaking of a wider spectrum of poverty. And we should all share our wealth of talents with others. I know Sarah and Mary have shared with us on their Blogs that they give of their time to help others; and I'm sure Karinann and Shadowlands and all other of my readers do the same.As for me ... I am currently microphone poor. The recording this time sounds awful. I'll have to ask my techie expert to sort things out for me. Thanx again all of you for your kindness.God bless.
Well said Victor....'to whom much is given....' I think of the Good Shepherd who leaves 99 to go after the one who is lost. We do have a responsibility for others. Look at the model of the Trinity - one of relationship. The love between the Father and Son is so strong that it is manifested as the Holy Spirit. And, prayer is a most effective way to help the 'poor' whatever their poverty may be.Andie
So right Andie. Prayer will go a long way to helping many whatever their poverty. Please remember me in your prayers.Thanx for writing in Andie.God bless.
I PRAY FOR ALL WHO COMMENT HERE. God bless you.
