A desperate prayer.

  1. Very good advice. I know that sometimes I'm somewhat dishonest with other people out of fear of hurting their feelings...I suppose we can do the same thing with God. We can feel like we'll upset him if we tell him we're not happy, as if we have to be happy all the time.

I also loved the end about praying for other people...how powerful that is. This was a great reminder to me to ask others to pray for me at times and to stay honest.

  3. Thank you Jade and Cathy for taking the time to write in.

Our prayers are conversations with God. If we can't be honest with Him then they are useless.

God bless you Jade and Cathy.

  4. Victor,
Thanks for this reminder of how God hears our prayers. It made me think of a parent and how they so much appreciate cards and gifts from the child's heart. God, as you put it here, receives our prayers of the heart that way as well.
    God bless.

  5. I seem to have lost the comments made on this post. I believe the comments were made by Jade, Cathy and Karinann.

Thank you all three for writing in.

  6. Hi Victor, I remember times when I fell down, feeling thoroughly overwhelmed and defeated and unable to continue. All I had left was 'a desperate prayer'. God answered. I am still here!

Btw, did I tell you I am reading "Feline Catastrophes" out loud to my children at the lunch table? They are thoroughly enjoying your stories. God bless.

  7. Hi Sue,

It's great to see you visiting here again. Thanx.

We all have that "desperate prayer" moments. I'm in the midst of one right now and I'm relying on others praying for me.

I'm so glad your children are enjoying my book "Feline Catastrophes". Please copy it to others, or get them to download it free from here.

I must read it sometime !!!

God bless you Sue and your family too.

  12. Victor,
This was my favorite video yet. We all go through those periods when there is nothing but "prayers of desperation" left and I loved your thoughts on letting it all out and just telling God like it is.

Please know that I pray for you too. I know this has been a tough year for you. God bless you, my friend.

  13. I suppose I should have guessed you are in a desperate prayer situation, Victor. We write about things which come from our hearts and that we know. I am praying. God bless.

  15. Victor, this is a most uplifting and inspiring post - and totally true theologically. I think sometimes God allows us to go into "overload" to remind us that we should be turning to Him in everything. Especially those of us who may get cocky about our ability to handle life's adversities.

  16. Thank you Barb.

Whenever I go into "overload" I remember: "I believe Lord; help my unbelief". Mark 9:24.

    God bless.
