How do you ablute?

You'd be surprised what people talk about on social media.
I thought I'd share these questions I found the other day;
and my answers.

What do you prefer, a bath or a shower?

I prefer both. I have a bath first and then I shower. Sometimes when I am in a hurry I just sit fully clothed in an empty bath for a few minutes and then get up and get dressed in different clothes. If I have a few minutes to spare I might vacuum clean myself instead.

Do you use soap in the bath or shower or do you use liquid gel or cream?

I use both. It depends on how much of a hurry I am. Sometimes I use tooth paste. To clean my teeth with ... what did you think?

Do you shave before or after you take a shower or bath?

I have a beard and proud of it.

Do you wear your glasses when in the shower or bath?

Of course. How else can one see all the little bits?

Do you sing in the bath or shower?

I sing so well the neighbours have broken all our windows to hear me better.

Do you bath or shower alone or with your partner?

I understand that some people do indeed bath/shower with their partners. However, if one's partner is not at home one can always invite a friend or neighbour or a complete stranger round. It's called sharing and it is good for the environment because it saves water; especially in a dry weather period. I save water by having my whisky neat.

Do you bath or shower with your pets?

Some people bath or shower with their pets. Not so easy with a goldfish. Or indeed a parrot. I once shared a shower with a wasp. It was a harrowing experience as it got very interested in attacking me after I blasted it with a hot shower jet.

Do you ever use your cell phone in the shower?

Yes often when ordering a pizza or other meal delivered straight into the bathroom.

Do you watch TV or listen to the radio in the shower or bath?

No ... but I often enjoy ballroom dancing.

Do you read in the shower or bath?

Why can't they make water proof electronic tablets? Or books? I use Audio books instead.

Do you dry yourself with a towel or wear one of those bath robes made of towel material?

I use the hair dryer turned on to a warm blow of air.

Right ... now over to you.
Please answer as many questions as you can,

    1. Ablute" is the verb form of "ablution," which means
to wash or cleanse, often for religious or ritualistic purposes.

      God bless, Tom.

  2. LOL...like Tom, I had to look up the definition of the word Ablute.
I prefer a long soaking bath....And I am thrilled to say that I have ordered a new Chandelier to be installed above my tub!! This is going to make me Happy!! Always soap and sometimes Epson salt, depending on how my knee is acting for the day.

    1. I used to ablute with scented candles instead of a chandelier ... until I got my hair singed by the flames. Now I use a battery operated torch.

      God bless, Shug. Keep smiling.

  3. It's strictly the shower for me, Victor. I couldn't even tell you the last time I took an actual bath. Thanks for the creative ideas and suggestions for the next time I ablute - LOL! Blessings!

  4. I shower these days but love a nice long bath—we have a deep soaker tub — and since my knee replacement, it's harder for me to hoist myself up and out of the tub. and I refuse to ask my husband for help. I'm rather boring - I use soap - I don't waste money on the gels and body wash, even though I like them, but they're not very economical. I've showered with a brown recluse spider before and an earwig. My husband showers with our black lab in the colder months as it's easier with her arthritis and the warmer water.

    1. Oh Debby ... I once did shower with an earwig also. Unfortunately she was there to listen in to my telephone conversation with the lady at the booking office of our theatre. I think she was jealous. The earwig that is; not the lady at the theatre.

      God bless you.

I use shower gel, never bar soap, don't share my shower with anyone or anything...mind you, one time I did with a spider who decided do join me, thankfully it was s small one! LOL!

    1. I only shared a shower with a wasp and an earwig as I said to Debby (above). Also once with an ice sculpture of a famous actress. But she melted away as soon as she saw me !!!

      God bless always, Linda.

  6. Shower for me. I like to get in and out fast. I use a bar ofDove soap. We don't even have a bathtub.

    1. When it's very cold I am in and out of the shower so fast before the water even reaches the floor.

      God bless you, K.

  7. I'm on Team Shower, Victor. (Er that is, I PREFER to shower -- not share space with a team.) Like Happy K, I've a bar of Dove, but prefer a gel. When wet, that bar is too slippery ...and wicked when it hits my toes.
PS - This Q-and-A is so amusing. While I haven't anything to add, I hope you'll do this sort of thing again ... perhaps give us a topic ahead of time?

    1. So glad you enjoyed this post, Mevely. I'll try another Q&A next week. How about our days of courting and first dates? Let's see what our readers can remember.

      God bless.

  8. Cannot find a partner to shower with, they are all afraid I might sing! HUH? I do not wash for religious purposes, or do I? Might be he-l to pay if I didn't (at least once a month!)
Love you my friend, and ?thanks

    1. Once a month is OK for me too, Jack. Whether I need it or not. I shower with my clothes on then hang out in the garden to dry. Drip dry. No need for ironing clothes. The Hobo look is quite fashionable over here.

      God bless always.

  9. While I'd much prefer a long, hot bath, it's usually a quick wash-up shower and get on with the day, there's so little time for anything else.

    1. When I'm in a real hurry I just walk around in the rain instead of a shower. The neighbours have complained for some reason.

      God bless, Mimi.

    Besos

    1. TRANSLATION: Victor, you're so funny and you always manage to steal smiles.
I like showering with gel. I had a whirlpool tub and I had to take it out; one day I almost killed myself getting in it.
I prefer showering alone, and sometimes when I'm home alone I sing in the shower. I have to admit my voice doesn't sound very melodic; I'm really off-key.
I adore my dog, but she has her own bathtub—each to their own.
I get out of the shower and put on a robe.
Have a wonderful day, and thanks for the smiles. Kisses

Thank you Momentos for your visit here again. I am glad you enjoyed today's story. I have used a bath robe once only when I was in the shower and the telephone rang. I got out of the bathroom and put the bath robe on the mirror next to the telephone table downstairs.

      God bless.
