Welcome to hell !!!

Not much is spoken about the devil these days. When’s the last time you heard speaking of him in a sermon on Sunday?

His job description is easy: Keep people away from God.

And by keeping silent about him, is not the Church unwittingly complicit in the devil’s attempts to make us believe he does not really exist?

Our world is full of temptations to lure us away from God and all it takes is a slight diversion of attention, a momentary loss of focus, and we can so easily drift away.

If the devil had the audacity to tempt Jesus we should not be much of a challenge to him.

When Jesus was tempted, several times, He prayed to His Father as we should too, using His words:

“And lead us not into temptation … but deliver us from evil.”

  1. He is lurking --seeking to steal, kill & destroy. He hope we take him lightly---a devious, crafty and dangerous enemy--his greatest desire is to destroy our witness.

  3. Hi Victor! Even the church doesn't talk much about the devil anymore. I guess we are trying to focus on more positive things, which is good; but we should be prepared. I like your definition of it, as anything that takes us away from God. And there sure are a lot of those.

Even Jesus dealt with the devil, so we know he exists. Whatever you want to call it, at least respect the power there, and protect your precious faith!
    Have a happy weekend Victor!

    1. Best wishes to you and yours Ceil.

You're right. The church does not want to talk about the devil. Perhaps they're afraid to frighten the congregation away. He surely exists but would like us to believe he doesn't.

      God bless.

  4. Our church does a good bit of a messages on the enemy, I am thankful for this. I am with you, many don't and it makes people unprepared for the trouble that lies ahead. If Jesus and the angels are fair game, we can be sure we are all fair game.

Thanks for stopping by my place. So glad to meet you. Love your blog and message.

    1. Thanx for your visit Kim. We hope to see you visit here soon and often.

It's sad that not many churches mention the devil in Sunday sermons. As you say, it makes people unprepared.

      God bless you.

    1. It is very scary indeed, Michael. And the tragedy is that not many people realise the devil really exists.

      God bless you.
