Poet's Block

 I want to write a poem about an orange;
but I cannot find a word that rhymes with orange.
Can you help me?

In The Stillness Of The Night

Oh Lord
Sometimes
In the stillness of the night
I feel Your presence Lord
I feel Your love
I feel Your peace
And Your nearness to me.
And I am at rest
In perfect peace
Hopeful knowledge
And thankful trust.

The Raven and The Crow

A raven and a crow,

Came to my window one evening

As it was getting dark

“Who’s the most menacing?”

They asked.

“It depends” I replied.

“Who are you trying to menace?”

“You … you idiot!”

They said in unison.

“We’re menacing you!”

“Menacing is an indication of an inferiority complex!”

I remarked calmly.

They looked at each other and flew away to menace someone else.

Granite Heart

GRANITE HEART

What’s our heart made of?

Tender flesh soft and gentle,

Feels the pain that’s all around,

Cries at hurts, wrongs and injustice,

Bleeds with every tortured soul.

Or slowly hardened by life’s cruelty,

Fatigued by constant repeated ills,

To the point it beats no longer

And turns to granite cold and still.

Oh Lord.

OH LORD!

Oh Lord, you were with me
At the dawn of my life.
And today you are beside me
In good times and in strife.

When I’m lonely, when I’m troubled,
Afraid, or just depressed,
I pray to You, Oh Lord
And once more I’m at rest.

Stay with me my Lord
Throughout all of my days,
And should I ever fall
Help me up once again.

Teach me to love You
As You have loved us all,
And strengthen my failing faith,
When doubts obscure my soul.

I may not know my purpose,
Nor the plans You have for me,
Yet in trust I wish to follow
And offer my life to Thee.
