Are you tuned in?

The closer you come to God the more attuned you will be to the evil around you. Evil in the world, in society in general and certain people in particular. You will even notice the evil in yourself.

Do not be distressed by this. Having come nearer to God's love and mercy you are now becoming more aware of the lack of such qualities in others. Even yourself.

You are now becoming more aware of your own shortcomings and sins. Let each reminder of such failings be an opportunity for you to confess to God, repent and seek His forgiveness. This will bring you even closer to His divinity.

And as you reflect on the evil in others around you, hand them and their situations over to God in the sure knowledge that He is in control and will overcome evil in His way and in His time.

We live in an evil world, and your closeness to God is making you more aware of evil's influence in every sphere of life. Resist it in your own life.

Ask the Holy Spirit to descend on you and to guide you and protect you.

  1. ..."We live in an evil world," perhaps, but we need to remember that so many who peddle "news" are actually trying to sell us stuff. Evil attracts attention and sells. I think that the good outweighs all the crap that we hear about.

    1. Thank you, Tom, for taking the time to comment more fully. And yes, you are right. Whether it is the news, or soap operas, or advertising; the final bottom line is the same: people are trying to sell us something. They tried that before when they sold goods and changed money in the temple, the house of God. Jesus quite rightly was angry about that.

Today, evil is still attracting attention to sell us more evil. We should be attuned to this fact of life.

      God bless you always.

  2. Amen, Victor! Let's allow God to be in charge of our lives, and pray for those who don't yet know Him.
    Blessings!

    1. The thing is, Martha, many people have heard of God; they just don't want to know Him. He is deliberately being excluded from peoples' lives. This is unbelief through considered choice, not ignorance.

      God bless you and yours.

  3. Your first sentence, wow! That's something I never would have considered. But I like it. A LOT.

    1. The closer we are to God the Holy Spirit abides in us. As such, we, through the Spirit, become ever more aware of evil around us which would offend and hurt God. Evil in society, in the world and in people; evil inspired by the devil. And the Holy Spirit within us warns us of the dangers afoot.

      God bless you, Mevely.

  5. Yes, that's very wise. The closer I draw to Him, the more aware I am of my own sins.

  6. Hi Victor, yes we must pray for all mankind everywhere - including ourselves, for all have sinned . It is only the Holy Spirit can teach us God's ways and thoughts, and we can only have access to God's Spirit through believing in Jesus. God bless.
