On yesterday's post, Tom mentioned that he doesn't understand piercings and tattoos. I must admit that I personally do not understand the need for piercings. Maybe someone could explain. However, some tattoos, discreet and not too elaborate, can be OK. These days, however, you see people on TV with their whole chest or arms covered in tattoos. I'm not sure I understand that, although I guess it must be very expensive to do; and painful.
Here in the UK we have a TV program called Naked Attractions where people are chosen for a date based on how they look. Contestants stand totally naked (full frontal) and one person has to choose who to take for a date.
The camera gets close in to personal private areas and often you see tattoos and piercings in the most unexpected parts.
THAT ... I do not understand. Why have a tattoo or piercing there?
What do you think about tattoos and piercings?
Do you have any?
Where?
...I Understand all of this less today than yesterday!
ReplyDeleteYou're not alone ...
DeleteGod bless, Tom.
HAHA Funny that, I agree with Tom gain today. We have a Grandson that when he was little would say "Skeer me!" (Scares me!). Some of that 'SKEER ME!'
ReplyDeleteYes I have one. the USMC emblem on my upper arm. Its cost was $5 in 1956, that was pretty expensive even back then.
PVT Darnell, USMC 1956.
Sherry has NO Tattoo and does not like them except in moderation..... i.e. ONE! LOL
Have a great day over there.
A tattoo to commemorate an event or a date, such as yours, is OK. Some of the people today are totally covered with tattoos. I bet it hurts. Is it all done in one session, I wonder?
DeleteGod bless, Jack and Sherry.
PS: I just had to come back to say, that graphic is a classic, I love that winged horse!!!!!! LOL
DeleteYou can imagine what the customer will do when he sees the finished product.
DeleteGod bless, Jack.
;-)
DeleteJust one piercing in each ear lobe. No desire for any more.
ReplyDeleteI also bet you have some wonderful ear rings.
DeleteGod bless, Kathy.
Like Kathy, I've only one hole in each earlobe. But it's been so long since I wore earrings, they've probably grown shut. Varicose veins are bad enough; I'll never get a tattoo.
ReplyDeletePS - Tom's adult daughter has many tats; she claims it's an addiction.
You make a very good point, Mevely. Is it an addiction I wonder? I know a young lady with a whole painting on her back - starts from her shoulders down to her ...
DeleteIt must look silly if she's ever on the beach in a bikini.
God bless you.
Yep! I'm in Kathy's and Myra's camp, Victor. Pierced ears only. And tattoos? I'm glad I never got one!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
It's just a modern trend that won't go away. You see tattoos everywhere these days, in public and also on TV. Some have them on their neck which means they're always visible even when wearing a shirt.
DeleteI knew someone who had the letters L ... O ... V ... E ... tattooed on the fingers of his right hand. And the letters H ... A ... T ... on the left hand.
He said he ran out of money! If only ... we all ran out of money when we begin to hate.
God bless, Martha.
Love and Hate are usually prison tattoos done by other inmates so I'd guess he ran out of cigarettes to pay with rather than money.
DeleteI couldn't help it. I had to use your thoughts on my blog today. Some plagiarism I'm sure, but mostly the idea....
ReplyDeleteLove you dude! Yeah I did think you were a priest.... ;-)
You honour me, Jack. I feel so humble, thank you.
DeleteNo, I am not a priest; just an ordinary guy trying his best and often failing.
Best wishes my friend. God bless you and yours.
Piercing the ears has become somewhat of a norm for many women who like jewelery, and i understand that.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, to paraphrase something a friend once said, i have never seen a person whose looks were enhanced by odd piercings or tattoos anywhere.
I agree about ear piercings; but other piercings and many tattoos I don't understand.
DeleteGod bless, Mimi.
I have pierced ears. Got them done when I was in 8th grade.
ReplyDeleteDon't have any tattoos and don't care to have any.
My son David has quite a few of them.
I guess elaborate tattoos are done in more than one sitting. Which is somewhat painful, I think.
DeleteGod bless, Happyone.
Dearest Victor,
ReplyDeleteDon't understand AT ALL why anyone, male or female would want to get his/her skin 'embroidered' with the hot instrument? How do they look later in the nursing home when it will be very hard to make out what WAS the picture at one time?! Skin is sagging and so is their 'embroidery'.
For me an absolute no-no. Both of us have none and I'm the only one with some 'regular' earlobe piercings. Not all over like someone has sewed you an ear on... Haha!
Nothing in my nose; nowhere else.
Later in heaven there must be different lines where all arrivals get directed towards for entering.
Glad I've kept my Birthday suit as I received it; never any hair dye; nothing done to it! Still got all my teeth and all marbles (I hope so...?!)
Hugs,
Mariette
You are very funny, Mariette. I like the image of sagging embroidery and a sewed on ear!
DeleteGreat imagery in your comment today; you certainly have not lost your marbles.
God bless always.
😜
DeleteOne or two tattoos can be ok, I don't get people who jam so many together that it is just a blog and you can not tell what any of them are. I have one tattoo. It is a chameleon, but I forget where it is and I can't find it.
ReplyDeleteYes, my point exactly. Some people have so many tattoos it becomes a whole body tapestry. It's so distracting.
DeleteI like your chameleon comment, JoeH.
God bless.
I have pierced ears, but no tattoos. I've thought about getting one simply for ID purposes in case I am in an accident and unable to identify myself, I would have my name, birthdate and blood group in a bracelet style. But I'm chicken and haven't had it done yet. My four children all have pierced ears although the boys no longer wear their earrings, three of the children have multiple tattoos and one grand daughter has multiple tattoos.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to have vital information tattooed on your arm.
DeleteGod bless, River.
