Then I heard the Lord say,
"Whom shall I send?
Who will be our messenger?"
I answered,
"I will go!
Send me!"
ISAIAH 6:8
Here I Am, Lord
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save.
I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people's pain.
I have wept for love of them.
They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my word to them.
Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them.
My hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide
Till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them.
Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.
Amen

Delete...today, we too often shoot the messenger!
ReplyDeleteSadly yes.
DeleteGod bless, Tom.
Dearest Victor,
ReplyDeleteJust heard on the TV here in Florida at our hotel, that in Australia the 'officials' had invaded a Church; stopped Holy Mass and checked on the attending crowd if they wore a mask... May God HELP us, if they show no respect for His Sacred places; where do we end up?!
Cruel for attacking people's freedom and making them stay home out of fear.
Hugs,
Mariette
Perhaps we all need to pray more.
DeleteGod bless, Mariette.

DeleteI don't remember hearing about that and I live here! Perhaps it was back in the early days when masks were mandatory and only certain numbers of people were allowed to gather in any one building. Church or not, people need to obey the rules and be safe. Covid and its variants don't differentiate between a church and a public bar or any other building.
DeleteThis is my favorite hymn!
ReplyDeleteIt means a lot to me too.
DeleteGod bless, Kathy.
I'd not heard this one before, Victor. Thank you for blessing my morning!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I finished reading A Shot in the Park last night -- and was captivated. My review will be posted on Amazon soon!
Thank you so much for your kindness to me, Mevely; and for your continued support.
DeleteGod bless you and your family always.
Nice, thanks for sharing Victor.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bill.

I did so enjoy that. Sherry did leave the room as I sang along, cannot figure why. Me 'n the Father sing well together.
ReplyDeleteI did so enjoy it ESPECIALLY the lyrics printed.
Good stuff.
Love from here,
Sherry & jack
PS: Thanks for the prayers...
I am sure you sing beautifully, Jack. Sherry left the room because she was overcome with emotion.
DeletePraying always. God bless you both.
Amen!! Wonderful words.
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Happyone.
DeleteMay we all be willing to go when He sends.

Before all this illness descended upon me, Victor, I pondered the word "send." I felt like God wanted to send me in a new direction for His sake. Now, I don't have the physical energy to be sent anywhere, but my words can still reach out to others as I am able for His mission. Praying for all who don't know Jesus' saving grace and mercy! May we be the ones who say, "Here I am, send me!"
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
I agree, Martha. We can all serve God in so many different ways. By our Blogs, by our prayers, by the way we live.
DeleteMay God bless you and continue to heal you and give you strength. Best wishes and prayers always.
This reminds me of the one kid in every class who always shot his/her hand in the air, desperate for the teacher to "pick me, pick me"
ReplyDeleteWe should all ask God to pick us as His messengers.
DeleteGod bless, River.
I love this song. It is one of my favorites. Thank you, Victor.
ReplyDeleteThe lyrics are so meaningful, Nells.
