I learnt it from AI

It's amazing how technology has advanced and what in the past we learnt from books and from schools and colleges we can now learn from the Internet. My parents, if they were alive today, would have been astounded by the Internet. Imagine writing an email and in seconds it reaches someone the other end of the world! And all those gadgets we can have at home or on our cell-phones that we ask them a question and they respond straight-away.

I know a friend who studied medicine by just reading on the Internet and asking AI to help him along. He is now a surgeon ...

and has successfully transplanted a hernia ... ...

from the left side to the right ... ... ...

on himself!

Bless him ... his heart is in the right place ... ... but I can't say the same for all his other organs.

The other day another friend told me he is asking AI to advise him on moral and religious questions and how to live his life. Can you imagine that? Asking a man-made thing to guide you in life rather than rely on God's Commandments.

But then, I remember many years ago some other people did the same thing.

  1. ...I'm not sure if AI is good or bad. Probability a combination of the two!

    1. Can AI answer the question you asked, Tom?

      God bless.

  2. AI is only as good as the person consulting it is.

    1. Some people consulting the Internet are real numskulls with an IQ score in the minus category.

      God bless, Kathy.

  3. Hi Victor, this world has gone crazy now that it has brought in artificial intelligence. It won't be long before there will be no jobs for anybody, and you will be able to have children without interacting with your husband. I loved the world when I was a child, and I would not like to be born in this era. God bless.

  4. The world is heading down the drain. AI just might speed it along.

  6. Some people are using it wisely. Just like the internet, it depends on how it's used. (So far I haven't tried AI for myself.)

  7. If left in the wrong hands, I don't see AI doing us any good. I do hope, though, that there could be some much-needed breakthroughs in the medical field, Victor, just no "Dr. Google" for me! Blessings!

    1. I've always wanted to be a brain surgeon. Now's my chance, I think.

  8. I am not a big fan of AI. I know it helps some, but I think it hurts more.

  9. Just the other day I was thinking about how much I enjoyed my family's set of Encyclopedia Brittanica and our set of The Book of Knowledge. Wow. How outdated it is now to fill home bookshelves with those tomes. I do enjoy the ease and accessibility of looking things up on the Internet, taking care, of course to "consider the source" of some information.

The story about hernia surgery -- so good!

    1. I agree with you, Barbara. We need to consider the source and authenticity of what we read on the Internet.

      God bless.

  10. I was just reading an op-ed encouraging the FAA to staff their air traffic centers with AI. Given the recent tragedy, that sounds wise.
But in matters of the heart and the hereafter? There's only One source of wisdom to which I'll subscribe.

    1. I don't know what is happening with Christianity; or peoples' beliefs in it, Mevely. But to have individuals relying on AI to guide them in life instead of the real living God ... I don't understand their motivation. Only today on TV there was someone claiming that the universe will solve all our problems. What does that really mean/ Who is this universe people believe in?

On another occasion, at a funeral, someone thanked the universe for the life of the deceased. I wrote about it last August:

  11. I am not yet too sure about AI but of course the genie is out of the bottle so it will be here to stay.
Time will tell how things progress with it.

Wishing you a happy, and peaceful, February.

    All the best Jan

    1. You are right, Jan. I am concerned about false information that some people will take as truth and act accordingly.

      Happy February and God bless.
