Lord, I hope this day is good

FATHER FRANCIS MAPLE

Lord, I hope this day is goodI'm feelin' empty and misunderstoodI should be thankful, Lord, I know I shouldBut Lord, I hope this day is good

Lord, have you forgotten meI've been prayin' to you faithfullyI'm not sayin' I'm a righteous manBut Lord, I hope you understand

I don't need fortune and I don't need fameSend down the thunder, Lord, send down the rainBut when you're plannin' just how it will bePlan a good day for me

Lord, I hope this day is goodI'm feelin' empty and misunderstoodI should be thankful, Lord, I know I shouldBut Lord, I hope this day is good

You've been the King since the dawn of timeAll that I'm asking is a little less crimeIt might be hard for the devil to doBut it would be easy for You

Lord, I hope this day is goodI'm feelin' empty and misunderstoodI should be thankful, Lord, I know I shouldBut Lord, I hope this day is good

  2. Empty and misunderstood, the current state of our political environment makes me feel that way. So each day I hope we get less bad news of the things Musk and Trump are doing away with. I've read several heart breaking stories of the people globally that won't get our help anymore, it bothers me greatly. So I hope this day is good for lots of people. Lovely words!!

    1. It's a lovely song by Don Williams. Sung here by Father Francis Maple whom I have known for quite some time.

      God bless, Sandy.

  3. I loved Don Williams recording, but Fr. Francis' rendition is great as well. Who, amongst us can't relate to these lyrics -- like a prayer.

    1. I used to play the Don Williams version on the radio in my music/talk program. And the Fr Francis version on my Christian program entitled "Time for Reflection".

      God bless you, Mevely.
