Let It Be

When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the broken-hearted people living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Yeah, there will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

  1. I love this song so much.
Always makes me a little sad to see (my favorite) George Harrison looking so young and happy. Time's a thief, you know.

  8. I found it so interesting to discover that Paul McCartney was not talking about Mary, the mother of Jesus, when he wrote these lyrics, but he wrote the song after his own mother, Mary, came to him in a dream assuring him during a difficult life season. Many have found so much comfort through the years, though, thinking the words of the song were speaking of the Mary, the mother of Jesus. Either way, it is such a beautiful song!

    1. A number of songs were not originally written as prayers or religious songs. See these examples:

      God bless, Cheryl.
