A Blessed Easter

Here is another tradition from our church here locally. I don't know how many other churches do the same.

On Palm Sunday we are all given the poster above to put on our front window at home so that people passing by in the street remember that this is a special week indeed.

Every year our house is the only one in our street with this poster.

Sadly, not many houses have the posters in secular Britain; but every so often I see some as I travel around.

Wishing you all and your families a Blessed Easter and may the risen Lord bless and protect you always.

    1. The posters are printed locally by our churches and we are encouraged to take them home and put in our windows. We have a similar one for Christmas too. It is our way of proclaiming Christianity in a world that has forgotten it.

A Blessed Easter to you and your family, Jan. God bless.

  2. Hi Victor, it does not matter if not many people put this poster up on their windows. At least the poster will bring whoever it is meant to, even those that may not know the significance of the crucifixion, to the Lord to find the truth. God bless you , happy Easter time.

    1. Well said Brenda. We sow the seeds. Where they fall, God knows and will touch the hearts of those who want to listen.

      Happy Easter. God bless.

  4. I've not seen anything like that poster … I love it! Sad to hear more of your neighbors do not participate. I hope you are enjoying a most blessed Easter Sunday!

    1. I think it is just a UK Catholic thing with the posters. Not many houses have them displayed because Britain is not really religious, I think.

Happy Easter, Mevely. God bless always you and yours.

    Happy Easter to you!

    1. Yes Martha. It is sad. God is seeking our attention and many are ignoring Him.

Happy Easter my friend. God bless you all always.

  8. We put up a small cross on a metal holder in our yard. The white side is left facing out until Easter Sunday, when we turn it around and it says, "He Is Risen!" for all who pass to see.

A couple of neighborhoods here saw neighbors build the stations of the cross in their front yards, so you could walk or bike or drive past and stop at each person's yard in order of the stations. Since they couldn't go to the church to do it, they built their own for everyone to come and participate (keeping distance, of course).

    2. Two wonderful ideas, Mimi. Putting a Cross in your yards and neighbours building the Stations of the Cross. How nice to see people who still proclaim their Christianity.

Happy Easter. God bless you all.

  9. I think all churches should do that. Unfortunately when you live in a complex like Villa Ramona where we live they have so many rules about what you can hang in windows, balconies, but if I owned my home I think I would broadcast my love for Jesus in a window for Holy Week and maybe longer!! I love your tradition and that you proudly, (but humbly) put it in your window to proclaim in death and resurrection!! God Bless.

    1. It's a tradition that we've had in our church at Easter and Christmas for a few years now, Wanda. Generally, our parishioners take part and put the posters in their windows. But as part of the population we are a small minority.

Happy Easter. God bless you and yours.
