Come out of the darknessDon't hide in the nightCome out in the sunshineAnd we'll be alright
Life's too long to worryAnd it's too short to cryAnd it's too deep to measureAnd it's two stories wide
There's your side and my sideWhich side do you need? Both sides make you lonelyAnd make your heart bleed
Life's too long to worryAnd it's too short to cryAnd it's too deep to measureAnd it's two stories wide
Life's too long to worryAnd its too short to cryAnd its too deep to measureAnd its two stories wide
Life's too long to worryAnd its too short to cryAnd its too deep to measureAnd its two stories wide
Willie Nelson
Waylon Jennings
Johnny Cash
Kris Kristofferson
The Highwayman
...they are classics!
ReplyDeleteIndeed they were/are. God bless, Tom.
DeleteNice message. I'd not heard this one before.
ReplyDeleteWith the possible exception of JC, these men are among my favorites. I agree with the FB meme: "When Country music is real it doesn't need backup dancers, sequins or firework shows."
Actually Mevely, I was dancing in the background with a sequins shirt and trousers and fireworks all around. The camera man did not capture my spectacular performance.
DeleteGod bless always, my friend.
Thank you! I hadn’t heard it before. ❤️
ReplyDelete—-Cheerful Monk
So glad you enjoyed it, Cheerful Monk. God bless.
DeleteClassic country, just how I like it. Blessings, Victor!
ReplyDeleteNot like today's music, is it?
DeleteGod bless, Martha.
Love these guys, the best of country music.
ReplyDeleteGreat guitars and lyrics.
DeleteGod bless, Bill.
thecontemplativecat here. The Highwaymen is one of our favorites. Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson are still alive; Willie has two sons who are musicians. Lucas is a master guitarist and his voice is his father's voice.
ReplyDeleteI did not know Willie's sons were musicians. God bless, Susan.
DeleteI'd not heard this before ... I enjoyed it, thank you.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I thought the lyrics were meaningful. God bless, Jan.
DeleteIt's certainly true, in some ways, two stories wide. A very wise police officer once said about handling domestic disputes, "There are three sides to every story, his side, her side, and the truth."
ReplyDeleteThe truth ... what is the truth?
DeleteGod bless, Mimi.
