IN A TROUBLED WORLD
TRY A LITTLE KINDNESS
If you see your brother standing by the road
With a heavy load from the seeds he sowed
And if you see your sister falling by the way
Just stop and say, "You're going the wrong way"
With a heavy load from the seeds he sowed
And if you see your sister falling by the way
Just stop and say, "You're going the wrong way"
You've got to try a little kindness
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
Don't walk around the down and out
Lend a helping hand instead of doubt
And the kindness that you show every day
Will help someone along their way
Lend a helping hand instead of doubt
And the kindness that you show every day
Will help someone along their way
You got to try a little kindness
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
You got to try a little kindness
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
NOTES: Father
Francis has sung in public over the years (and still does) in malls,
shopping centres and at his own concerts and has
raised over £1m for charity. He has also written several books (sermons,
cooking recipes, jokes), and has contributed (and still does) to many
newspaper columns and Catholic newspapers and magazines. He spends a lot
of time travelling throughout the UK leading Missions in various
Catholic churches.
...kindness beats whatever is in second place.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Tom.

Dearest Victor,
ReplyDeleteExcellent song by Father Francis and good musical rhythm as well! Proud for having been his 2,677th listener!
Hugs,

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Mariette. I have put other songs of his on You Tube.

DeleteTimely message! I've always enjoyed this song, and Fr. Francis' rendition has me tapping my foot.
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought it was timely seeing how the world is these days. Rather sad, I think, that we can't be kinder to each other.
DeleteGod bless you, Mevely.
It is such a pleasure when you include the words. I can actually understand what he is singing when I can follow the words. This was Blessing for anytime, but especially on a nice Sunday morning.
ReplyDeleteSending a prayer and good thoughts your way with a thanks.
Sherry & jack still over here...
Thank you so much for your kindness and friendship, Jack and Sherry.
DeleteSo glad we met on the Internet. Praying for you. Thanx for your prayers.
God bless.
Kindness doesn't hurt, it helps!
ReplyDeleteSo be kind.
If only more people practiced what you say, Bill.
DeleteGod bless.
Kindness costs nothing to give and reaps rewards beyond measure.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Victor!
Amen Martha. Sadly, modern day selfishness gets in the way.
DeleteGod bless you and your family.
Good advice for all of us. It makes the heart joyful to be kind. I like Father Maple’s voice. Thanks for sharing. Have a blest week.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nells. I have posted other songs by Father Francis here - check the list on the right hand column:

God bless. Happy week.
I love that song! I remember it from years ago, but sung by someone different. Do I hear a little Irish accent in there?
ReplyDeleteBeing kind puts smiles on faces.
The original song was by Glen Campbell. I don't think Father Francis is Irish. Other songs of his on You Tube. See my response to Nells above.
DeleteGod bless, River.
A lovely song, i hope it inspires many to try just as he says.
ReplyDeleteAmen Mimi. Amen.
