Some readers of this Blog are Christians. A number do not believe in God at all. I can tell from the comments and e-mails I receive. The thing is, whether one believes in God or not, we shall all one day stand face to face with God our Creator and give an account of ourselves.
Some non-believers may scoff at my statement. But let that be as it may.
Now here's a thought. Let us assume that today you are face to face with God and He asks you to account for your life. What would you say?
I don't mean you tell Him that you're a doctor, teacher, car mechanic, parent, or whatever else describes your profession or status in life. I mean what would you tell Him about the good you have done in your life? Especially the good you have done to people without them knowing about it, or to people who have no way of repaying your kindness.
What good have we all done in our lives thus far? Will we be remembered for who we were or what we have done?
Here's another thought from the top of my head. Today is an opportunity to start doing something good every day I can tell God about when I get to meet Him.
You can tell Him about this blog.
ReplyDelete(Though He already knows.)
God bless you, Victor.
Thank you so much Sandi for your kind words. God bless you.
Delete...I was raise to understand the importance of doing good deeds.
ReplyDeleteAdmirable. God bless, Tom.
DeleteThanks for the reminder about doing daily good deeds. However, when I meet God face to face I suspect my brain will turn to mush and I won't be able to remember anything. I will just have to trust that He already knows.
ReplyDeleteHe does already know, but He may want to hear you say it so that you can remember the missed opportunities when you could have helped someone and you did not. Like the homeless person you saw the other day perhaps, or the new member at your church whom you ignored or ...
DeleteGod bless, Kathy.
I would imagine when I meet the Lord I will do as John did - fall on my feet at His glory.
ReplyDeleteAmen Debby. God bless you.
DeleteWe are able to do good works because God has blessed us and tells us to love and serve one another. Blessings, Victor!
ReplyDeleteYes I agree, Martha. God bless.
DeleteLike the Golden Rule ... only better!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mevely. God bless you and yours.
DeleteWe should always be doing good things that help other people because we'll never know who sees us and we could be a role model for others.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Bill. Role models. God bless you.
Delete❤️ Love and kindness always.
ReplyDeleteThank you and God bless you, CM.
DeleteWonderful post Victor: I have been asked why I believe in God and his Graces, I tell them that it is a feeling in my heart that he is for real not an imagination, I go to confession regularly and Mass every weekend, some of my friends of different religions do not believe in confession, sadly they do not know how wonderful it feels to have a clean soul, it makes me feel so good in my heart to know that maybe someday I will make it to Heaven.

Believing in God is a decision that an individual makes at some stage in their life. They choose to believe; very much like other people choose not to believe in a Creator God. Our decision to believe is based on Faith; we take the first step to dare to believe without any proof whatsoever. And God does the rest.
DeleteGod bless you, Catherine. Thank you for your kind words.
I do try to be nice to everyone and help them all to have a better day.
ReplyDeleteAmen Brian. God bless you.
DeleteEven the devil knows there is a God!!
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty easy to be kind to others if you stop and realize what Jesus did for us!!
The thing is, however easy it is, many people are just not kind to others. God bless, K.
DeleteHi Victor, only God is good, and that is how we can do good in this world by learning His ways and His thoughts through believing and following Jesus - the Word of God.
ReplyDeleteAmen. God bless, Brenda.
DeleteIf today, the Almighty has me in front of Him and asks why He should let me into His heaven, the answer is simply, "Jesus said it is finished, and it is." He paid it all.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you, Mimi.
