As odd as it sounds, it was 3 weeks after my husband's death, the day I was observing what would have been our 50th wedding anniversary, that I suddenly realized I was not married any more. Oh, a part of me knew that, but on the anniversary I was thinking about our wedding vows. I came to the "till death do us part" phrase and it hit me (hard) that death had parted us.
Well, that was almost 4 years ago and much has happened since then but I share this to say the wedding vows are powerful, deep with significance.
So sorry to hear of your sad story, Barbara. I am praying for you and your whole family. It is so wonderful to hear your marriage lasted 50 years. Sadly not many marriages last that long these days.
Victor: I met my husband to be on November 17th of 1976, I proposed to him on January 26, my birthday we were married June 11th 1977, the Priest that married us said it would not last because we only knew each other a few months, after 47 years we are still giggling and happy, he is still the most beautiful man I have ever met. It is sad when couples give up so easily, we have never talked about divorce or separation, oh we have had problems nothing that would tear us apart, with God and Church in our daily lives that is what is the strongest string keeping us together. I hope you have an amazing day.
What a lovely story, Catherine. Congratulations and best wishes on 47 years together. Wishing you many more filled with joy, giggles, good health and whatever you desire.
Andy and I have been married 60 years so far, and we went together for a few years before that. When one of us passes it will leave a big hole in the others heart.
Congratulations to you and Andy, CM. Best wishes from all of us and many happy returns filled with joy, good health, and may all your wishes come true. God bless you both always.
Best wishes to you and your husband, Mimi; and many happy returns filled with the best of the best and your desires too. God bless you and your family.
...after 56 years together, my Sweetie and are in it for the long haul.
