Just a thought towards God

There are many people who go throughout life without giving a thought towards God. It's simple really. Especially if they don't believe in God anyway.

They get up each morning and get on with their daily life, however busy it may be, and God does not feature on their radar of existence.

This often happens to so-called believers too. Life gets so busy that God is slowly, often unintentionally, relegated to the back of their minds until Sunday when they attend church for an hour or so.

If we start from the premise that God is a loving, caring, Father; then we realise that like any loving Father He likes to hear from His children every now and then. To tell Him how we are getting on in life. The difficult bits as well as the good days.

Every glance towards God, every thought, however fleeting and short in time, even as a cry for help, for us or on behalf of someone else, is a Divine connection with God.

At that very instant when we turn to God, whatever the reason, we and God are united as one. Godly Father and child united in thought and in eternal love.

We cannot possibly imagine how much that means to God. To have one of His children turn to Him and devote even the shortest time available to be united in thanksgiving and genuine trust.

  1. ...this is much like grandchildren, as ours get older we see and hear from them less. School nd jobs keep them busy.

  2. Dearest Victor,
So very true and prayer is still the most powerful tool we ever got.
Prayer unites us in joy and above all in sorrow and grief. Feeling to be part of a worldwide 'family', all God's children and even connected with those that are no longer with us. Their souls remain forever and it is only through prayer that we re-charge and re-connect.
Far more valuable than any social media platform.
We just lost a dear friend's eldest son who went to be with his earthly Father who passed away on December 5, 2019... Who would have guessed their time apart would be this brief? When a heart gives out, it is time to return to our Master. Tough for his wife of 17 years and his 11.5 year old boy... But again, lots of prayers will sustain them and make them strong enough to continue.
It's not fair is no good answer for many issues in life. Only God knows the full plan!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. I am so sorry to hear of the death of your friend's son, Mariette. Especially having such a young son left behind. My prayers are for them all and their family.

I so agree about what you say regarding prayers. At such times we are united with God.

      Praying for you all.

      God bless.

  3. Another common sense entry. We all need simple reminders at times. Life gets in the way and we NEED to remember the IMPORTANT part of living.
    Thanks,
Sherry & jack..... Trying to work life out, at least understand some of it.

  4. We can't allow anything to usurp our focus on God and the importance of prayer. May He be first in our hearts always!
    Blessings, Victor!

    1. Well said, JoeH. You are not alone in getting in touch with God when you need His help. He understands, and forgives, and loves ... always.

      God bless you, my friend.

  7. Silly, perhaps, but I've been in the habit of saying, "Thank you, God" throughout the day for the silliest things -- a coveted parking place at the grocers ..... the gentleman who yielded in traffic .... a safe return home at the end of the day. And yes, the big one: Thank you for waking me up this morning.

    1. It is certainly not silly, Mevely. Believe me, you are doing the right thing. We should have at least ten mini-prayers like these a day.

      God bless always.

  8. I try to spend some time each day talking with God and thanking Him for the good and bad in my life. However, sometimes I get busy and miss a day or two. I would like to think He understands.

  10. It's a joy to pray throughout the day, and if i wake at night, then too. Today i had a difficult time with another person, and i had to pray a lot so i wouldn't be sinning against that person with unrighteous anger. My prayer is tomorrow will be easier!

  12. The hardest thing for me is to hear from or see people who do not care for God. He is the only thing keeping me upright and that has been my entire life. I learned early, in the 2nf=d grade, only God is answering my prayers and only Jeuss is walking this life road with me. But I have a friend who had no upbringing in the church. He was experiencing health issues. I said I am going to get the blog people who know you to pray. we did and he is now turning and trusting to God first. We can never give up but we don't have to lsiten to their berating the best thing in our world GOD and HIs son Jesus; :-)

    1. Thank you for visiting me here Anne. It's great to see you.

Yes, it is sad when we know people who do not believe in God. We pray for them and, sometimes, they respond by believing ... step by step.

      God bless always.
