The sword
May have aged and rusted
But it’s still
As sharp as ever.
Honed in bitterness and bile
As perilous as ever
It was.
And for ever
Will be.
Do not let
Your anger
Spill into your life.
The sword
May have aged and rusted
But it’s still
As sharp as ever.
Honed in bitterness and bile
As perilous as ever
It was.
And for ever
Will be.
Do not let
Your anger
Spill into your life.
...anger management is an issue today.

Thank you so much, Sandi.

"Out of the blue" ... well then, I believe it was meant to be. Even if this analogy resounds with just one person, it's good.
ReplyDeleteThe words just appeared in my mind as I was sitting there in the garden. I got in quickly to scribble them down before I forgot them.
DeleteI hope the words help someone.
God bless, Mevely.
This is a good reminder to manage my emotions.
ReplyDeleteAmen Kathy.

Ahhhh, to keep that sword in the sheath is so hard for EVERYONE, Some folk make an art of carving up friends, kin and anyone who they think steps on their toes.
ReplyDeleteI hope my errors are behind me, that is speaking out of turn without thinking of the HURT, the one cut must suffer.
Good thoughts my friend, we all need a reminder at times.
Sherry & jack
Thank you so much for your kindness, Jack. Indeed, we should all be careful about what we say.
DeleteGod bless you and Sherry always.
There seems to be a lot of anger and angst in the world at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThese are wise words.
All the best Jan
The world is in such a sad place, Jan.

Anger, resentment, bitterness, they are all swords that harm the one who carries them.
ReplyDeleteYes, and it is very sad.
DeleteGod bless you, Mimi.
It means keep your sword in its sheath; violence is never the answer.
ReplyDeleteOr it means never piss off an old guy...one of those.
Either meaning seems OK, JoeH.
DeleteGod bless you and yours.
"Do not let your anger spill into your life". That's good advice for anybody.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, River.
DeleteGod bless.
