Reality Check

Time for a Reality Check.

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you like what you see?

Write down on a piece of paper five adjectives that describe you: honest, hard-working, loyal …

What else can you think of? Be honest and write down more than five adjectives if you wish.

When you’ve finished, read each one slowly in turn. How many of these adjectives would be chosen by your friends or family to describe you?

Do you see yourself as others see you?

More important, do you see yourself as God sees you?

And … that’s what frightens me.

    1. Ah the mirror never lies!

When I look into mine the reflection laughs at me!

      God bless.

  3. I don't know how God sees me. I hope positively. I know I'm a sinner and disappoint Him. What I would like to see is someone twenty years younger. ;)

    1. Yes, Manny. I hope Our Lord sees us positively.

As for seeing someone twenty years younger. I've been told that using Preparation H helps take away one's wrinkles. Never tried it though.

      God bless.

  4. Do you think that if we replaced all our mirrors with pictures of Jesus that we'd be less tempted to focus on the wrong person? Sometimes, I think that the mirror might be one of the Devil's more ingenious inventions ;-)

    God bless, Victor :-)

    1. What a wonderful thought, Vicky. It would be so awesome to see Jesus instead of our own reflections. And it would help us try that bit harder to be more like Him.

      God bless you always.

  5. Hi Victor! I know that God sees me as his precious daughter. He knows what I can be...what I am capable of. The sad thing is that sometimes I don't act like a daughter should. I need to learn about how that kind of behavior hurts him, and is not a reflection of who I truly am. I am the daughter of the King.

I have a high standard to live with, yet all the while, I am loved and loved. It makes me want to be his Princess more and more!
    Sunday blessings,
    Ceil

  6. Interesting. Your last question intrigues me, as I can take it two ways. On one hand, I know God sees the true me, not the one I pretend to see in the mirror. On the other hand, when I get too hard on myself, God probably also sees the person He created in His perfection.

In either scenario, though, we probably see different things!

    God Bless!

  7. Reality check YA say?

WHAT! That's really me i see in the mirror every day?

Did "I" ever tell YA about the story where "I" found a pimple and thought that "IT" possibly might be a brain tumor and I solved the problem by putting Preparation H on "IT"... I later woke UP and found out that "IT" was just a picture of this guy, "I" mean disguised imagination playing tricks on me again before Halloween...lol

    God Bless

  8. Hi Victor, Makes me love the Lord all the more because I know He loves me despite myself ... faults and all. And the thought that God by His grace makes us into His inheritance is ... well, hard to grasp. Goodness I love that ticking clock!
    Blessings always +

  9. It's always wise to ask God to help us see ourselves the way He sees us -- loved, cherished, forgiven, and made acceptable and righteous through Christ. Praise God that we can accept this identity!
