You believe in God. An invisible living all-powerful being who, you claim, created the whole universe and what is in it. Including you and me. That's quite something to believe in.
You also believe that this invisible being sent His only Son to earth, and He died and was raised from the dead. Once more, that's quite something to believe in.
There's a lot of other things about God and Jesus that you believe in.
But do you realise that you are in the minority? Most people in the world do not believe what you believe. In this secular world people believe that we are creatures like all others, definitely more advanced in evolution, and yet like all living beings when we die it means the end. We no longer exist. No Heaven, no hell, no God, Jesus and all the things you believe in.
That's quite a contrast between their beliefs and yours. A difference which is growing ever wider as time goes by, and as those who believe like you become more alienated from the world, and are viewed with suspicion or even hatred and disdain. Persecuted even.
Christianity is in retreat in many lands and cultures. Probably not where you are ... yet.
What will it take to keep you from losing your faith?
I am praying that you don't.
...Victor, I wish you a peaceful Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
DeletePraying for a revival to come and that people will wake up to the truth and power of the Gospel. I don't know how people even cope without God in their lives. Blessings, Victor!
ReplyDeleteThey cope because they think they know better.
DeleteGod bless, Martha.
Thankfully, I live in the Bible Belt area of the USA and there is a church on every corner. But...I know that we live in a world where people see things differently and refuse to acknowledge that God is real and He is Almighty God. My constant prayer is for All to come to know God as their Lord and Savior. I am with Martha....I don't know how people live without God as the center of their lives.
ReplyDeleteI join you in prayers Shug that more people come to know the Lord. That's why I maintain this Blog and keep writing books - in hope that just one person may find the Lord in their lives.
DeleteGod bless you and your family.
I believe that there are many paths to God, through many religions.
ReplyDeleteI agree. However, the word Christian implies a belief in Jesus Christ who is the Son of God.
DeleteHi Jabblog and Kathy.
DeleteJesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6
I have wonderful friends who are atheists close to 30 years now. Oh the conversations we’ve had, to no avail. I will say, they sure do like us which makes me scratch my head so there is hope.
ReplyDeleteMy advice Debby, for what it's worth, pray for them; and pray some more. I am praying too.
DeleteGod bless.
Of course I can't know for sure, but I can't think of anything that would cause me to lose my faith in God. It's kept me going through good and bad times.
ReplyDeleteWell said, K. Keep praying daily.
DeleteGod bless.
All you can do is pray for those who don't believe. I may not be the best person I can be but I do believe in God and who he is and what stands for.
ReplyDeleteI agree Bill. We do our best and pray for others.
DeleteGod bless you.
Yes, I see the diminishing of faith in God here. The enemy of our souls has been very busy, but I also see evidence of the Holy Spirit when I least expect it. You are right, as Christ-followers, we are in the minority right now now.
ReplyDeleteIt's some good news that you see evidence of people returning to God in your area, Barbara. Nothing significant happening here.
DeleteGod bless you and yours.
I do know I am in the minority. It is so sad to think about it.
ReplyDeleteI believe John 3:16.
Amen Sandie. Just trust in God as best you can.
DeleteGod bless always.
I'm praying none of us give up and give in.
ReplyDeleteAmen Mimi. God bless.
DeleteI do my best and pray for others.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
That is all that is asked of you, Jan.
DeleteGod bless you.
I, too, live in what's known as the Bible belt ... blessed to witness a revival unlike anything I've seen among our young people. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily extend beyond our state lines; I well remember the apathy which existed/exists in Big Cities and the corporate world. Were it not for grace and the support of my neighbors in faith I might still be among those sleepwalking. There's little to do but pray; i have to believe that's enough.
ReplyDeletePrayer is enough when accompanied by faith that God is listening and is in control; no matter what happens in our world. I'm glad there's a revival where you live. Over here I feel people are becoming more attached to possessions and consumerism as if there's no tomorrow.
DeleteGod bless you, Mevely.
