Nightmare on Elmo Street

I had a terrible terrible nightmare the other night.

I dreamt I was in hospital and I had to undergo a serious operation. When I woke up from the operation I discovered they had transplanted a new hand on me. A third arm and hand had been transplanted on my stomach.

I had my two normal arms and hands and this third one out of my stomach at the front. What's worse, it was a female arm and hand.

It seemed to have a mind of its own. You should have seen it come out of my shirt and wave at people at the most inopportune time. The old lady on the bus fainted and nearly fell off the bus when my third hand waved goodbye at her.

I tried tucking it in under my belt but it was most embarrassing having it struggle to come out again.

Mind you, my third hand proved quite handy at the supermarket when I had to carry all that shopping!

I really should stop eating cheese before going to bed.

  1. A helping hand indeed but with you Victor, it would cause all kinds of strange situations. :)
Happy day and weekend to you.

  2. As the fellow said, 'philosophers have been strangely silent on the subject of cheese.' :)

    1. Exactly, Brian. Exactly. If it was not for cheese the world would be a totally different place. Some even believe the moon is made of cheese.

      God bless you.

  3. I am very good at interpreting dreams and this one clearly indicates you are seeking attention, why else would you give yourself a hand?

That or you have a very fun and unique mind...actually I think it is the latter.

    1. Or maybe it is the former, JoeH. For example, my telephone does not ring; it applauds!

To be honest, most of my posts just come to mind suddenly out of the blue. I don't see them visually in my mind like a film; rather, I see the words being written on a screen in front of me. I have to quickly memorise them and write them down; because this happens frequently and often.

      God bless you, JoeH.

    2. If only you could just copy and print.

I don't see the words, I get an idea and just start writing, I'm never sure where I will end up when I start...then there is a lot of editing.

    3. Yes, I understand what you mean about you getting an idea and then writing about it. This rarely happens with me. I sometimes see a word, or hear a word on TV, and somehow this triggers a lot of other writings in my mind. It happens instantaneously whilst driving, on the bus, train or wherever. So a copy/print facility would be very useful.

I also don't understand where weird situations or imageries come from; like the extra arm story. They just happen and I write about them.

God bless you, JoeH my friend.

  4. Oh, what fun! My mind boggles, imagining the possibilities. (That is, as long as the hand doesn't have a mind of its own....)

    1. It certainly did have a mind of its own in my dreams. I cannot say any more what it did.

      God bless you, Mevely.

  5. I am not a dream reader so won't even try to analyze what this means! LOL Glad you woke up without that extra arm!

  7. LOL!
Yes, an extra hand, or even pair of hands can come in useful while shopping :)

    Have a good weekend.

    All the best Jan

  8. You are never boring Victor and you make me laugh...thank you :)
You must be some contortionist when you are sleeping. There isn't anything wrong with that as long as you don't get tied up in a bit knot :)

    God's Blessings ✝

    1. I am so glad I made you smile, Jan. I just get these silly ideas in my head and I just have to write about them. It's good to know they amuse my loyal readers. Thank you for visiting me again, Jan. I appreciate it.

God bless you and your family.

  10. Sounds like a nightmare... Maybe the female version of Thing from the Addams Family?

    1. That's exactly what I thought, Chris. Can you imagine a female hand thinking for itself on my male body? It was embarrassing at the best of times!!!

      God bless. Keep smiling.
