The times they are a-changin'.

The times they are a-changin'

But are we changing with them? Or are we same old same old?

Imagine ... let your imagination run wild ... money is no object ... everything is possible ... no restrictions whatsoever ... imagine ...

What is the one change that you would make to your life that would make it different?

Just one change ... and things would be different. No restrictions whatsoever.

For me ... that one change would be having crunchy peanut butter rather than smooth.

Every time it is the same. I decide today is the day I will buy crunchy peanut butter. I go to the supermarket ... Reach the shelf ... and in the last minute ... last second ... I buy smooth peanut butter.

And I regret it when I get home.

For some reason I never get to buy the crunchy type; or even buy both jars and decide later at home which to have.

Lack of imagination I guess.

How is your imagination?

  1. Lots of changes would make my life different, most would not make it better. I wish there was less clutter around my home...Mrs. C is actually getting better at that, otherwise "I'm good!" I do get the crunchy, way better than smooth for me.

It takes much imagination for you to claim NO imagination.

I was expecting a religion related post, you got me with peanut butter...come to think of it you did get me thinking about life and stuff...DANG, now I think you slipped in a religious message without me realizing it...Well played.

    1. Thank you for the kind compliment JoeH which I read in between the lines of whjat you have written.

I'll take your recommendation and try crunchy peanuts soon. As for clutter, it seems to gather from nowhere in our house. I've just filled a whole trash bin with papers we do not need; especially adverts which come through the post.

      God bless you.

  2. I am working on this as we blog Victor :)
I am being myself on both of my blogs. Some may not approve of one or the other or even both of my blogs...but these blogs are bits and pieces of who I am. They are definitely not "tell all" blogs...some secrets must remain hidden.

    As for your peanut butter dilemma...buy both and spread crunch on one half and smooth on the other half and enjo the best of both worlds :}

    God's Blessings~

    1. Indeed we must be true to ourselves, whether blogging or in real life. I work on the principle that if people don't like me then they are missing out, not me! I'll try your peanut butter combo. I usually also spread sultanas or raisins on my peanut butter sandwiches. Tasty!

      God bless you, Jan.

    2. I splatter raisins on the bread with my PB as well, very nice combo.

    4. Well after my comment I deleted my Gothic type blog later in the day. I must get back into my paintings and two blogs would give me little time for my art 🎨

      God's Blessings ✝

  3. Last time I bought peanut butter Hubby requested crunchy. They had both small and large jars of creamy, but only large jars of crunchy. It takes us a long time to go through a jar, and I couldn't justify purchasing the large.

    1. The solution is simple Kathy. You could have bought the large jar, use half of it, and send me the other half. Simple!

      God bless you.

  4. Mine is okay, Victor, but my hubby Joe won't even try crunchy peanut butter. Always the smooth. Sigh. I like your thought to buy both kinds and then decide which to eat. Decisions, decisions!

    1. I often can't decide on things, Terri. Do I part my hair to the left? Or the right? Or in the middle? Or leave it to part itself? Do I brush my top teeth first or the bottom ones? Do I put my shirt on first or my pants? Totally undecisive. Definite ... maybe ... perhaps.

      God bless.

  5. The change I would want is to have my father live a longer life. I was young when he passed and our relationship was rather rocky. Looking back at that time I realize I was a jerk and wished we had a better relationship. We both could have had a chance to work things out and grow the relationship. He got married when he was almost 50. I think my life would have been better from that prespective. My mother did a great job bringing us up while my dad worked nights so we didn't see him much. Live, learn and appreciate.

BYW, creamy peanut butter for me, my wife loves crunchy.
    Have a wonderful weekend, Victor.

  6. The one change? Having someone offer to make a movie from my novels! Oh, well, if it's God's will, it will happen . . .
In the meantime, I'll take crunchy!
    Blessings, Victor!

  7. Ha! Here I was preparing to oil my brain cells to deliver something (slightly) profound. Your situation isn't dissimilar to what I face each time we visit a favorite restaurant: I vow to try something different, and never do so.
For the record, I can't bring myself to even try smooth PB; it's EXTRA-crunchy or nothing!

    1. Well I think that was profound, Mevely. In this Blog anything anyone says is profound enough for me.

      God bless you my friend.

  8. Money is NO object; but, only ONE change? My imagination is running wild! All of the current craziness going on over here in Canada; and the insanity going on just south of us is ... well, 'overwhelming'! My ONE 'change' would be to 'hunker down' somewhere 'safe' with all of my family & friends. I'd build myself a little bungalow, atop of a 3-story bunker, hidden underground -- for when it all comes crashing down. But, that would be a BIG 'change'! Of course I'd stock it with LOTS of jars of peanut butter -- of both kinds -- smooth & crunchy!

  9. "Crunchy" may be among the wisest choices. :)

I figure, and hope, that we aren't in 'the best of all possible worlds,' but don't know how much I'd actually want changed.Maybe my household's assorted financial issues zeroed out. But even there, I'm not sure what would happen next.

On the other hand, there's this invitation: "... let your imagination run wild ... money is no object ... everything is possible ... no restrictions whatsoever ... imagine ...."

My imagination promptly served up a 'now' with cities on the moon and low-Earth-orbit transportation hubs as accessible London or Shanghai. Where the United Nation's bright promise hadn't stalled in perhaps-inevitable bureaucratic, diplomatic, and ideological wrangling.

And that's just a couple of the more probable version of the will-be that was. :)

    1. tsk. That's "United Nations'" !! For shame, and me a recovering English teacher. ;)

    2. The thing is Brian, with no restrictions whatsoever, we could all hope, or dream of changes like cities on the moon, or fast travel and so on. But let's be honest, would these changes be as exciting as changing from smooth to crunchy peanut butter? For me, that would be a life-changing experience! I have NEVER bought nor tasted crunchy peanut butter. A change within my grasp all those years yet never taken!

      God bless you.

  10. Oooo, crunchy peanut butter, you're making my mouth water! I love the smooth too. Both are old time favorites.

The ONE change I would make would be to have ALL my meals delivered, already cooked...without having to pay an-arm-and-a-leg for it. AND, the dishes should be disposable so I wouldn't have to wash them.

Thank you so much for visiting blog and for leaving a nice comment. I really appreciate that!

    2. It is so nice to dream, isn't it, Dellgirl. Just imagine, edible dishes so they don't need washing. Edible clothes. Edible furniture. Edible everything. Now you got me dreaming too.

      God bless.

I thought Jan's suggestion about the peanut butter a very good idea :)
