Silly Questions Party Game

I don't like parties. I don't like having to be nice to people at parties. In fact I don't like people altogether. I'd rather be alone with a glass of Guinness and something good on TV.

We went to this party. Some friends of ours got a new house and it was their house-warming party.

The hostess insisted we play games. First she started us with communal singing whilst she played the piano. Then charades. Then a new game which she had invented.

She had a pack of cards which she had made. On each card was a question which we had to answer and then discuss.

Stupid questions like do you put on your left or your right sock first? Do you prefer to shower or bath?

Being a mischievous person her questions were a touch too personal for my liking. You know me, I'll answer any question you ask me in the comments box, but some of the questions in her game were too personal.

For instance, what is the last thing you do before going to sleep at night?

Some people said they brush their teeth. Some said they put on their face cream and moisturising cream. Some were more uninhibited and described how they said good night to their partners affectionately.

I mean ... there is a limit to what one should say in mixed company, surely?

For the record, last thing I do before going to sleep is to check the park is empty. I would hate it if there's someone in a nearby bench sleeping there and he could steal my shoes whilst I'm asleep.

I then close my eyes and reflect on why I got thrown out of my home again.

What is the last thing you do before going to sleep?

  1. I didn't see that one coming, Victor - lol! And for the record, I detest party games and small talk. I'll take a Guinness and an entertaining television show any day of the week.
    Blessings!

    1. So glad I made you laugh, Martha. We need laughter every now and then.

      God bless you and yours.

  2. LOLOLOL! I loathe those parties you describe, and too-personal questions. Who knows, one might inadvertently be revealing the answer to their financial institution's security question.

    1. Exactly ... one never knows what one says at such parties after a drink or two.

I'm glad you enjoyed my story, Mevely.

      God bless you always.

    1. Same here, JoeH, about the parties and about closing my eyes. The thing is, when I close my eyes this is when I actually "see" my next posts being written on a screen in my head. So I wake up quick and write it down before I forget it.

      God bless.

  5. My party days are behind me. Done that, got the tee shirt, and hangover. These days I enjoy small get togethers with a few friends, good food and music. The last thing I do before I fall asleep is make sure my mp3 player is set to to the music I want to listen to but I always fall asleep before I get a chance to listen to the second song. :)

    1. Indeed I agree, Bill. Small get togethers with friends are better than having to mingle in large parties and pretend to be enjoying yourself. I hate such get togethers.

      God bless you.

  6. I'm not a party person either. I would much rather watch from a dark corner if I have to be there at all. The last thing I do is close my eyes!! :)

    1. You close your eyes in a dark corner at a party? I'll try that next time I'm invited.

      God bless you, Terri.

  7. It's been a long time since I went to a party. Personally, I prefer to have a tea party with a bunch of us girls.
I take my medicine before bed and yank the covers from my husband. Just kidding!

    1. I agree about big parties, Regina. I don't like them but often when invited we have to go.

      God bless you.
