THE 'SECOND' TEN COMMANDMENTS
Thou shall not worry,
for worry is the most unproductive of all human activities.
Thou shall not be fearful,
for most of the things we fear never come to pass.
Thou shall not cross bridges before you come to them,
for no one yet has succeeded in accomplishing this.
Thou shall face each problem as it comes
you can only handle one at a time anyway.
Thou shall not take problems to bed with you,
for they make very poor bedfellows.
Thou shall not borrow other people's problems,
they can better care for them than you can.
Thou shall not try to relive yesterday for good or ill; it is forever gone,
concentrate on what is happening in your life and be happy now!
Thou shall be a good listener,
for only when you listen do you hear different ideas from your own. It is hard to learn something new when you are talking, and some people do know more than you do.
Thou shall not become "bogged down" by frustration,
for 90% of it is rooted in self-pity and will only interfere with positive action.
Thou shall count thy blessings, never overlooking the small ones,
for a lot of
small blessings add up to a big one.
I have my own to Victor.....
ReplyDelete1. Thou shalt not jump onto the keyboard when thy human is on the computer...
2. Thou shalt not unroll all of the toilet paper off the roll...
3. Thou shalt not project hairballs from the top of the refrigerator...
4. Thou shalt not sit in front of the television as if thou art invisible...
5. Thou shalt not jump onto thy sleeping human’s bladder
at 3 a.m...
6. Thou shalt not reset thy human’s alarm clock by walking
on it...
7. Thou shalt not trip thy humans, even if they are walking
too slowly...
8. Thou shalt not push open the bathroom door when there are guests in thy house...
9. Thou shalt not jump on the toilet seat just as thy human
is sitting down...
10. Thou shalt attempt to show remorse when being scolded.

...these are GREAT!
ReplyDeleteThanx Tom.
DeleteGod bless you.
Hi Victor, I think I like the count your blessings one best.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, so many blessings to be thankful for.
DeleteGod bless, Brenda.
Some good ones there, though I don't agree with the 2nd to last one. Frustration to me is not about self pity. My biggest frustration at the moment is that despite all the evidence trump is not in jail and still has a following of "believers". That's not self pity, that's fear for the country.
ReplyDeleteI understand what you are trying to say Sandy. I think in this sense it means frustration against God for not moving fast enough to our liking. That's how I interpreted it. We set the timetable and then get angry/frustrated when God does not meet it.
DeleteGod bless.
These are wonderful! My favorites are #'s 9 and 10.
ReplyDeleteYes, Number 10 should be the reason for our thankful prayers.
DeleteGod bless, Mevely.
I love these, going to print them out. Thanks, Victor
ReplyDeleteMany thanx for your support, my friend.
DeleteGod bless, Bill.
I love your list of the second ten, Victor. Happily, I do try to live by these as much as I do the first.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
We should keep on trying, Martha; looking at the bright side of life.
DeleteGod bless.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi. God bless always.
DeleteDearest Victor,
ReplyDeleteLove all of those!
Had no time yesterday as I was really worn out after a long day of crossing two bridges (on foot!) and a LOT of driving and meeting a State Trooper.
Hugs,
Mariette
Sit down and relax, Mariette. Take it easy. I know how you feel. So tiring here walking in the heat. Even doing gardening is difficult.
DeleteGod bless.
Yes, while driving I always sit down; don't you?! 😳
