  1. I enjoyed your broadcast. Especially about the little girl who needed her minister. That was most touching.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

    1. Thank you Sandee. The story about the little girl is true. The priest felt he had to wait in his office a while before setting off. Had he set off on time he would have missed her.

My radio programs were one hour long with music and readings from scripture. Other snippets available at the top of this page - click REFLECTIONS SOUNDTRACKS.

      God bless.

  2. Oh Victor, I so believe in divine appointments. Nothing by chance but by God's hand. Wonderful broadcast. I want to say more, but my dearest has a doctors appt. in a few minute...so I'll be back later.

    2. Back from a follow up doctor's appointment, and all is well. Since my dearest's stroke I'm the sole driver. Home safe and sound. I wanted to tell you we call "Divine Appointments" AXE HEADS. Why? I'm so glad you ask. In the Bible account of Elisha the workers are at the river and a man's axe head comes off and falls into the river. "Help yells the man. My axe head came off and fell in the river...Yikes it's borrowed!!! Elisha very calming asked where it fell in, and he cut a stick and threw it in the water and the axe head floated to the top. Such a tiny miracle...but we see those kind in our lives so very often, that in our family we said. I had an "axe head" today. II Kings 6:6 Thank you for your prayers.

    3. There are so many miracles happening each day in the world. Sadly people are not willing to believe in them.

God bless you and your family, Wanda.

  3. And I recollect that story of the priest and the little girl as one experienced by Fr. Ignatius! And Victor, I loved your encouragement at the end, inviting everyone, even those with faith as small as a grain of sand, to take that first step toward God, trusting that He will show them the way through His Word.
    Blessings!

    1. Hi Martha; the story about the little girl is true. I knew the priest personally. However, to protect his identity I have used a number of events in his life, (as well as other priests I've known), to write the Father Ignatius stories.

My radio programs often touched on the point that people had to make the first step towards God. I suspect I was a bit of an oddity in the radio station as people do not expect someone with my sense of humour to be a Christian. It often invited comments and questions of the air afterwards.

God bless you and yours, Martha.

  4. Yes. I, too, recall the story of Fr. Ignatius coming upon that car wreck and hearing the child calling his name. (*goosebumps*) I like that impromptu prayer suggestion. Baby steps!

    1. Yes Mevely, as I mentioned to Martha (above) this is a true story. Father Ignatius and his stories are based on real events that happened to a number of priests I have known.

I always encourage non-believers to make the first baby step. Just tell God you don't believe in Him, and ask Him to help you believe. It is at least an honest start to a wonderful relationship.

God bless you and your family.

  5. There is no such thing as coincidence.

Grandpa had a really odd dream one night that a good friend's wife was having trouble with her pregnancy. She had been his patient during her first pregnancy but they had moved hundreds of miles away, so she had a different doctor there.

He felt so strongly about it when he woke up that he called and woke them at midnight and told them to get to his hospital in NOLA by 6am, that the baby would die otherwise.

They dropped their older child off with a friend, got on a plane, and met him at 6am, where he saved her baby. What he had dreamed was wrong was correct, and all of us know that dream was sent by The Lord. She had an appointment with her own doctor later that day, but by then it would have been too late to save the baby.

Grandma was awakened at 2am one morning and told to pray. She went to her prayer room, and a couple of hours later got a call that her nephew had been in a terrible car wreck at 2am. The doctor didn't expect him to survive, but when she told him about being awakened by The Lord specifically to pray, the doctor realized he would survive, and he did.

There is no such thing as coincidence.
