  1. ...you start with quite a fanfare! When our adult children were teenagers they never left without tells us where they were going and with whom and when they would be home. If it turned out that this information was incorrect, there was hell to pay!!!

    1. Yes that is the right way, Tom. Children should let the parents know where they are going and return home on the agreed time.

The fanfare at the beginning was the intro music to my radio program. It is the theme tune from Exodus. The program was one hour long consisting of music, Bible readings, guests and discussions. I found some old tapes which were/are deteriorating fast. I made them into short manageable digital recordings.

      God bless, Tom.

  2. Dearest Victor,
Well, it was with joy and pride to be your eighth listener. This is almost too much of a coincidence that you and I are doing the very same... I've been dreaming all night about putting such old tapes into video with some of the images that were shown as slides at certain times. Will get it done, it is just a matter of calculation and precision. Was dreaming about someone asking me to do several small recordings for them. I was firm in replying that first I had to finish my 18 minutes and 15 seconds lecture of Pieter's Conference... Will do that today!
Those are indeed valuable messages that you rescued here and it is build in perfectly with the Exodus tune. Meaningful. Some people lack the observation of many things speaking to them and conveying a strong message.
The pagan woman in yesterday's reading had that capability! She was literally blessed.
    Happy Sunday afternoon and hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Hi Mariette,

I am so pleased you liked this short recording featuring Father Francis. In this old tape, I only speak at the introduction and at the end. I have found some other tapes of my programs and it is taking some time to rescue them into digital form.

It is good that you are doing the same with your old tapes and slides. Some records are well worth keeping as a souvenir, or as lessons, for future generations of ours.

      God bless always my friend.

  3. I enjoyed this so very much; and, in fact, was a little sad to realize 12 minutes had elapsed! Have to admit, Fr. Francis' last story about the mother/grandmother's (seemingly) cavalier attitude was somewhat shocking. Then again ...
    Blessings!

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed this tape recording, Mevely. I'm happy to have saved it from deteriorating. I think Fr Francis was making the point about totally accepting God's will. I'm not sure many of us can do it to such an extent.

God bless you, Mevely. Praying for you.

  6. A lovely episode. There is something to be said for praying for healing until the end, and at the same time saying "Thy will be done." To me, it's like saying this is what i hope for, but i will take whatever You send because i know that's best.

  7. I enjoyed the broadcast Victor, I especially liked the one on how we view those down and out such as a drug addict or homeless person. I've always told my husband...You know, that person was someone's little baby at one time. And I always wonder what happened... We try to keep bags of food and water to pass out when we see someone who needs it and offer encouragement. My husband was once an active prison chaplain (still is but not as active) and oh the stories we heard from the inmates. It was a bit like the movie, Boys Town.

I liked the devotions, every one. What a breath of fresh air in this day. There are not many who claim to serve the Lord who will take that time to hear His voice.

    Blessings to you Victor!
