Try A Little Kindness

IN A TROUBLED WORLD
TRY A LITTLE KINDNESS

If you see your brother standing by the road
With a heavy load from the seeds he sowed
And if you see your sister falling by the way
Just stop and say, "You're going the wrong way"
You've got to try a little kindness
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
Don't walk around the down and out
Lend a helping hand instead of doubt
And the kindness that you show every day
Will help someone along their way
You got to try a little kindness
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets
You got to try a little kindness
Yes, show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets

NOTES: Father Francis has sung in public over the years (and still does) in malls, shopping centres and at his own concerts and has raised over £1m for charity. He has also written several books (sermons, cooking recipes, jokes), and has contributed (and still does) to many newspaper columns and Catholic newspapers and magazines. He spends a lot of time travelling throughout the UK leading Missions in various Catholic churches.

    1. Yes, I thought it was timely seeing how the world is these days. Rather sad, I think, that we can't be kinder to each other.

      God bless you, Mevely.

  4. It is such a pleasure when you include the words. I can actually understand what he is singing when I can follow the words. This was Blessing for anytime, but especially on a nice Sunday morning.
Sending a prayer and good thoughts your way with a thanks.

  8. I love that song! I remember it from years ago, but sung by someone different. Do I hear a little Irish accent in there?
Being kind puts smiles on faces.

    1. The original song was by Glen Campbell. I don't think Father Francis is Irish. Other songs of his on You Tube. See my response to Nells above.

      God bless, River.
