Does God exist?

Have you ever asked yourself: Does God exist?

It's a question we should ask ourselves every now and then. It helps re-affirm our beliefs. I reinforces our faith. It confirms what we believe and why.

Of course, too much doubt and questioning can be counter-productive; but every now and then, we need to look at our beliefs and thank God for such belief in Him.

When I look at life around me, I see a pattern everywhere. Nothing seems haphazard.

Look at the way humans reproduce. Two people come together and create a new life. It's the same, or similar, in animals, birds, insects, fishes and so on. Look at how a plant grows, either from a seed or from a cutting. It seems to follow a set pattern. It grows and provides flowers or fruit, and it reproduces. Look at the planets and stars how they follow a pattern too.

It all seems pre-set to me. If you're a scientist you will have noticed a pattern in chemistry, physics, biology or whatever you're studying. Look at how chemicals react with each other. How magnetism and electricity work. Different weather patterns and movements of the winds and seas.

It can't all have happened by accident. It couldn't have happened with a big bang, and explosion or implosion. It's much too orderly for a haphazard event to have created such a pattern throughout life.

It couldn't have happened with a bit of slime leaving a pool of water and becoming human. Although, I tend to believe the latter; seeing how many slimes I have met in life. Better not name them in case they read this Blog.

All of this must have been created by a Supreme Being. Someone designing and creating everything according to a plan.

I prefer to call Him God. And I believe in Him, because years ago a man called Jesus taught us about Him. He called Him our Father. He also said He was the Son of God. I believe that too.

Of course, some people believe in God because they have personally met Him. They have experienced His presence and His power, love and mercy. They're the lucky ones.

I have never met God, or heard Him speak to me personally, but I have witnessed His works many times.

  1. Dearest Victor,
Oh yes, it is without any doubt that there is a Mighty Creator.
Meeting God is great but right now, I'm not in a hurry...
    Hugs,

    1. I didn't mean meeting God in the next life. Some people have met God, through the Holy Spirit, in this life.

      God bless, Mariette.

    1. Exactly my point, Martha. Many people can't see His fingerprints.

  3. Just reading that question gives me chills; almost like an invitation for Satan to come inside.
I've no doubt God exists, and absolutely adore what Martha said about His fingerprints.

    1. Yes, the devil is waiting for that moment of doubt to derail us from God's path.

      God bless, Mevely.

  5. I smiled as reading. Truth sometimes shakes our tree, YES we do need to look deep, and I KNOW for a fact tooooo much doubt can have terrible results. I must keep on my toes in that area. Thanks Victor I always enjoy my visit here.

    1. Thank you so much for your welcome visits here, Jack. It is sad that so many people do not believe in God, despite all the evidence.

      God bless you and Sherry.

  7. Some scientists are too smart for their own good. Many of their own are speaking out, showing how impossible faith in the scientific explanations really is.

If they don't want to believe because they don't want to be held accountable and answer to a Creator, that's their loss. He's wonderful and He loves us and He is good, and i'm glad to believe.

  8. Very similar to my thoughts.
Years ago in a Sunday school class I remember a teacher approaching the topic to his group of 8 year olds. He said scientists could explain almost every thing in nature right down to the smallest molecule. But where did that first molecule come from? I've been working on that question for 67 years and God is all I've got.

    1. Coincidentally, it was at the age of 8, or there about, that I suddenly realised, on the bus on my way to school, that there must be a God. How else could everything have happened?

      God bless you, JoeH.

  9. Order and beauty. Agreed. And said. Repeatedly. :)

A Guy Consolmagno quote I've used: "faith must be there first, if one wishes to see God in Creation."

    2. I know for a certainty that God has spoken to me. I had a contract for seven of my devotionals, but their guidelines were so strict that I decided I would not have the right words to please them. As I was walking away from my computer I felt discouraged. God spoke to me telling me He would give me the words. It became remarkably easy to write the devotionals. Praise the Lord! That is only one example. Blessings.

    3. Such a beautiful example, Nells. Thank you for sharing it with us. Sometimes when I re-read my writings I ask: did I really write this?

      Are your devotionals on-line?

      God bless always.

  11. I know He does indeed exist! I have had too many encounters with Him during life's difficulties to question His existence. He was there for me many times and I happily follow Him. I need to blog about my personal experiences and perhaps someone would have something to think about. I always pray that someone will take something good away with them when we discuss God. Thank you again for all these wonderful posts.

Yes, we should share our experiences about God on our Blogs. We never know who might visit and benefit from our writings.
