How was it for you?

 

It's amazing. You buy a product or service on the Internet and you suddenly get a lot of e-mails asking you what you thought of what you bought.

Did you like the product you bought? Was it what you expected? Were you exhilarated beyond exhilaration? Did the earth move for you? Would you recommend it to all your friends?

NO ... I would not recommend it to all my friends. One of my friends is a 94 years old lady and if I suggested this to her she'd probably report me to the police.

Why do Internet sales insist on sending those stupid e-mails? Imagine if other professions did that also. Your doctor or dentist asking you if you enjoyed the operation and would you recommend it to your friends. Depends on the operation, I suppose. Another friend of mine wanted breast enlargement. She had an operation where they removed excess fat from her rear and transplanted it in her breasts. Now whenever she stands she tips over forward.

I rarely respond to those e-mails anyway. Except once. I gave a 1* to a product. I bought a model of the Eiffel Tower and was disappointed that it did not lean to one side as expected. I put some chewing gum underneath two legs to rectify the problem.

I was first introduced to Victor's work in the blogging world. I was so enamored with his great sense of humor, that I never hesitated when he announced this book on his blog, "Time for Reflections:. It is so refreshing to read a humorous book filled with wit and humor without the need to spice it up with vulgar language or sexual undertones. Victor shows us, page after page, life is quite humorous--especially when you don't mind making yourself the brunt of the joke. An easy to read--delightful page turner--Victor has once again hit a home room with this little charmer! -

I do not recommend you buy these shoes. They arrived promptly within two days but instead of a pair I got three shoes. All for the left foot. I wore them by forcing my feet in and I looked like a duck. See photo.

Definitely do NOT buy these ladies' underwear. I specifically asked for Very Extra Large size, and although the label says Very Extra Large they did not fit me. Must have shrunk during postage and delivery.

Do not buy. Garlic scented air fresheners are a stupid idea. The label said it brings an appetising aroma to your kitchen. The place stinks and the neighbours have complained to the landlord and I am being evicted. Even the mice have escaped from the apartment. One good point is that it kills flies.

Totally useless. I bought this authentic porcelain scene and the tower did not lean to one side as expected. I had to put some chewing gum under the legs to make it lean sideways. Why can't they be accurate with their souvenir models?

CHRISTIAN REFLECTIONS

Already knowing author Victor from several previously purchased books, I certainly knew this would be GOOD. That has proven to be an understatement as this was so much more!
Victor manages to write so engaging, so transforming and he explains things so well—using the amiable Father Ignatius as main character. WISH there would be many more Father Ignatius figures in this world and plenty of writers for jotting it down for others to ENJOY and LEARN!

Too bad that I lacked the time and only found time during rainy days... Have begun the next one; More Reflections for the soul! Go ahead and order this excellent book and I bet, you won't be able to put it down...

Christian Theories Explained. To be honest I expected a good novel. I have read some excellent novels by Moubarak. This one took me by surprise, the surprise was pleasant. Being a Protestant much of the Roman Catholic Church is a mystery to me. I actually loved the book. One comment said: The answers to questions you won't ask (paraphrased). That is a very good example. I was impressed at the professional way beliefs in heaven, hell, eternity were covered. Along with the Nicene (?) Creed. I most assuredly appreciated the book. I appreciated the explanations of Purgatory, not fully convinced but it was very well placed. You would not be disappointed with this read.

TIME FOR REFLECTIONS

Easy-to-read. Surprising in parts. Did you know some Catholics pray in tongues?

This is an easy-to-read book about the Christian faith from a Catholic perspective. As a non-denominational, evangelical Christian I expected to have some differences of opinion. What I found instead was similar opinions, some identical, and just a few differences. It's good. Easy to read. The author has a likeable, relatable "voice"-- I read it, not audio.

THE PRIEST AND PROSTITUTE

A PRIEST??? This is a very well written 'Who Done It'. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, and many original lines. The one I remember most was concerning a conversation in which the old saying "If someone yells in a vacuum can it be heard?" You have to appreciate the wit of the author and also the surprise ending. It is a very enjoyable read and I definitely would recommend the author. Yep, tis a fun read.

This is such an excellent written book, that keeps you literally on edge till the very end. I read it through... could not put it down! WOW. - Mariette

When Father Ignatius and Father Donald are called away to a Conference at a monastery little did they know they would end up as suspects in the murder of a monk. Murder in the Monastery is a murder mystery with a unique twist. Even though the story is a who-dun-it there are several passages throughout the story that Father Ignatius speaks to others about  forgiveness. I intend on reading more by this new author and I recommend this inspirational story to others.- Romaine Heart

Victor using his created character, Father Ignatius, has completed a very good example, in short stories, of a man of God interested in people. I smiled as I read the stories. It could have been the small office or churches my dad pastored. Victor's insight into the problems encountered by any ministers of the Gospel, yeah, including priests. As I read I actually remember several short stories that were nearly word for word of problems and the Priest's answers were as if my dad had advised. I recommend this book very highly. As I write this review I am smiling remembering my dad the pastor of a very fundamental Protestant church. He would have gotten a kick out of me comparing him to an educated Catholic Priest; my dad was self taught, very successful, from a very poor family and a formal education of the 3rd grade. He had to quit school to be a full time farm hand. Victor's Father Ignatius was also from a poor family. Anyway, no matter your situation, you will enjoy Father Ignatius. - Kindle Customer

 A man of many talents, Victor, entertains us with a "Who Don It" in this offering! What I liked MOST about the story---the reminder to not jump to judgement based upon circumstances! Victor tells a story with a touch of tongue in cheek--always--and adds a lesson in morality and faith while weaving an intriguing tale of murder and mystery. The faithful stand by Father Ignatius, but most fall away and even call for heads to roll--reminiscent of the last days of Christ. A talented writer, Victor, has once again used the infamous Father Ignatius to keep us on the edge of our seats--while at the same time gently reminding us of important life lessons. I have read Victor Moubarak and am impressed with his ability to teach me about the Catholic Church and it's stands and beliefs. He does not shy away from the controversial and that is important for me. I will probably never be a Roman Catholic Church 'follower' but it is refreshing to read, and learn things I did not know. One of my best friends converted from Baptist to become a Catholic, we have had many discussions. Now after following Victor and reading his books I feel more informed. I recommend the book as a very good fiction novel, very entertaining, you cannot go wrong giving this book a read. - Kindle Customer

I really enjoyed following my favorite priest, Fr. Ignatius, as he navigates his way through a tough challenge. Celibacy and the priesthood are tough subjects, yet the author addresses it with such grace and insight. Priests are people, just like any of us, with the same feelings and inner conflicts. This book just made me love and respect the character of Fr. Ignatius more than I already did...which was a lot!- Ceil Ryan

HOSPITAL REVIEW - * One star

I would not get operated there again. The anaesthetic did not work. I woke up during the operation and the doctors and nurses were playing poker round the operating table.

CINEMA REVIEW - * One star

I went in to see the Sound of Music, my favourite film. I hated it. The seats were too hard and the cinema was overcrowded. If the woman in-front of me did not have pierced ears I would not have been able to see the screen.

The music was good. The steak was very hard. When I told the waiter he got me a sharper knife.

It was hot every day, and the beach was too sandy. There was sand everywhere when I sat down in my bikini. My boy friend complained too. He was wearing baggy shorts.

Paris is beautiful. We walked everywhere and visited all the tourist sites. One drawback though. The Eiffel Tower was not leaning to one side as it showed in the brochure. Maybe they fixed it.

Food excellent. Wine excellent. Service second to none. After the meal my girl-friend broke up with me. I shall never visit this place again!

Never been to that church before. I went for a colleague's funeral. Wi-Fi reception bad. Missed Downton Abbey on my laptop. Priest too serious.

Great shop. I'd read that 17% of babies are conceived in IKEA beds. My girl-friend and I tried the bed and we got thrown out of the shop.
