ME ... SINGING
SILENT NIGHT
FATHER FRANCIS MAPLE
SINGING
SILENT NIGHT
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace
...this is a favorite of mine, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed my version, Tom.
DeleteGod bless.
Victor, you probably already know this, but when you sing Silent Night, you remind me of Animal from the Muppets - lol! Thanks for making me laugh, my friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings always!
I thought a drum version of this quiet hymn would be more cheerful. I got thrown out of the church choir as a result. They don't appreciate good music it seems.
DeleteI loved Animal in the Muppets.
God bless you, Martha.
We enjoyed both, BUT especially the phone conversation. LOL Sherry & I sang along with Father Francis. I want to tell you that yesterday when typing my blog entry I remembered once meeting your Father Ignatius. He actually saved me from myself once and set me on the right track. I will make a short entry about it on my blog.
ReplyDeleteLove from this side
Sherry & jack
The neighbours did not seem to like my drum version of Silent Night.
DeleteI look forward to reading your story about Fr Ignatius, Jack. Will check out your Blog soon.
God bless you and Sherry. Take care.
Hi Victor,
ReplyDeletejust listened to your version of Silent night, and the neighbour thing. I was thinking of singing along with you and playing my guitar, but I can see now that your version was too short - ha ha! I am going to listen to the other one tomorrow. God bless.
I was interrupted in mid-flow. I guess I'll never be a famous singer.
DeleteGod bless, Brenda.
Dearest Victor,
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd video was lovely and the first made me laugh.
Guess our choir director would have sent you away if you'd used such a raspy voice...
But Silent Night is my favorite and I always in memory can hear my Dad sing it in the choir when the children were invited and received some candy and an orange from the PROTECTRESS(a rich lady supporting this...). Dad with his two brothers sang all.

Hugs,
Mariette
They did not like me singing with drum accompaniment. I thought it added a certain je ne sais quoi to the hymn. They disagreed and got me out of the choir.
DeleteYou have wonderful childhood memories, Mariette.
God bless.
💞
DeleteYour neighbors don't seem to have the Christmas spirit, telling you to stop singing, what an insult. :)
ReplyDeleteI was quite hurt at the time. I'd only been rehearsing for twelve hours and was begining to get it just about right when they stopped me.
DeleteGod bless, Bill.
Such enthusiasm .... such a soothing voice! (I'll let you guess which is which.) Do you, by chance, take requests?
ReplyDeleteYes I take requests. I was once asked to sing "Far Away" but I did not know the lyrics.
DeleteGod bless you, Mevely.
It sounds like you were having a good time singing....until you got interrupted.
ReplyDeleteThey interrupted me in mid-flow. Some suggested calling the police so they could enjoy my singing too.
DeleteGod bless, Kathy.
You sound just like my favorite rock star ever, Animal from The Muppets! 😃
ReplyDeleteThat was high praise, by the way.
DeleteYes, thank you, Sandi. Animal was my favourite too. A great singer and drum player.
DeleteI wish I could play and sing like him.
God bless always.
That was quite funny, your voice sounds rusty and out of tune, like mine has become since the asthma got worse. And I don't talk much, so the voice is terribly out of practice anyway.
ReplyDeleteAt least the drum was in tune when I sang.
DeleteGod bless you always, River.
