Me and my friend Jesus

  1. ...in the US so many followers of Jesus have perverted the lessons that Jesus taught, I wonder if they will indeed enter the promised land?

    1. I feel it is the same in the UK too. Christianity seems to be in retreat over here.

      God bless, Tom.

  2. Dearest Victor,
Love the singing and the rhythm to it!
Sadly that over the past decennia, God has been omitted from so many things. Schools no longer pray, often not at public gatherings. We are very lucky for living in the South where people are still very Christian!
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. It is sad, isn't it? Over here in the UK Christianity is often mocked by comedians on TV and radio.

      God bless you, Mariette.

    2. Yes, very cowardly! They want to look 'COOL' in the eyes of the audience... It's their ticket to hell! There will be NO escape when standing in front of our final judge! 👹

    3. Guess who will have the last laugh!

It makes me angry when a comedian on TV suddenly changes the subject and starts mocking God, or Jesus, or the Virgin Birth. Often using blasphemy too.

      God bless, Mariette.

  3. You hit a cord with us Bible believing Christians. The World just doesn't get it. They want to be the "friend", but they don't want to read and follow the sound doctrine. Just like the book I got buried in. I grew up singing "What a Friend we have in Jesus. Enjoyed the song, and loved the illustrations you used. God bless you dear friend.

    1. I'm so pleased you liked this song, Wanda. It is good when Christians stand up for their beliefs.

      God bless.

  4. Loved this song, Victor, and can't believe I've never heard it before today. Isn't it amazing to be able to call Jesus our friend? He is definitely the best one we could ever have.
    Blessings!

    1. The singer, Dennis Weaver, is best known for his role as McCloud on TV. A detective who chased the baddies in the city traffic on a horse like a cowboy. Also in the film 1971 film "Duel" directed by Steven Spielberg. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duel_(1971_film)

Dennis Weaver was a Christian and recorded a few Country songs.

      God bless you, Martha.

  6. It seems to be a hard sell these days. The days of me are more important than having a conversation with Jesus. How sad!

    1. Yes it is sad that people do not care to get to know Jesus, as a Saviour or as a friend.

      God bless you Bill, always.

  8. I didn't know Denis Weaver was a Christian and recorded a few Country songs. I used to watch McCloud.

    All the best Jan

    1. Yes, Jan. He was a Christian and also did not drink. Including when he had guests at parties he did not serve alcoholic drinks. He recorded a few Country songs but was not so well known in the music scene. More of a TV and cinema actor.

      God bless you and yours.
