If I were to play this song ... ... ...
How many would remember it was a hit 60 years ago?
What were you doing then? What can you remember from that year in 1965?
And if I were to play this song ... ... ...
Would you remember it was a hit 50 years ago in 1975? What were you doing then and what can you remember from that year?
How about this ... ... ...
It was a hit 40 years ago in 1985. What do you remember from that year? Any good, or not so good, memories?
Yes, time flies. Let us look back with wisdom and not regrets. And let us make good memories for our future and that of our loved ones.
...it sure does, the days have wings!
ReplyDeleteSo, what's your kind of music Tom?
DeleteGod bless.
Yessss ... of course! (*big grin ... don't forget the lyrics*)
ReplyDeleteMusic is, indeed, a time capsule. Our thoughts are the only ticket needed to ride.
I certainly remember playing California Dreamin and Rhinestone Cowboy on my radio program. Not so much the Madona song. Today, I cannot name you one song from the current Hit List. They don't write them as they used to ... the real lyrics with meanings.
DeleteGod bless, Mevely.
The first one was a hit when I was just a youngster, but I definitely remember the other two. What a nice mixture of genres for the beginning of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I brought back fond memories, Kathy.
DeleteGod bless.
I remember every single one of those songs, Victor, and have memories to go with each. Well, I didn't care for Madonna's song, but was subjected to it from time to time on the radio. My children were born in the 80s, so lots of good memories. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI remember the first two songs; not so much the Madona one. Time seems to have gone fast these last few years, Martha. God bless you and your family.

Deletethecontemplativecat here. I recall those. Love Glen Campbell's music. Madonna, sigh. My then-10 yr. old daughter loved it, and sang it allll the time.
ReplyDeleteJust like you, Susan; I don't think much of Madona's music. God bless you and yours.
DeleteI remember them all and probably have some of them on mixed tapes that I made and then converted the mp3s.
ReplyDeleteGreat memories of times gone by. God bless, Bill.
DeleteI remember all of them. Loved the Mamas and the Papas. I was 14 when the song was a hit. Glen Campbell was okay but not a fan of Madonna.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a fan of Madona either. God bless, K.
DeleteThe music remembers when - Tricia Yearwood I think. For sure.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, music brings back fond memories. God bless you, Sandie.
Delete1965, i was two.
ReplyDelete1975, 8th grade, almost to high school
1985, the year i married.
It's amazing what can happen in ten years.
My thoughts exactly; amazing what can happen in a ten years period.
