  4. What a great song, Victor! It was nice to hear Willie Nelson singing, too. I'm not a huge fan, but I really loved this tune you shared today. It is so true!
    Blessings!

    1. Willie Nelson is one of several country singers I like. I thought this song is very appropriate, especially for those who have been hurt badly. I'm so pleased you liked the tune, Martha.

      God bless you always.

    1. It shows how difficult it is sometimes to forget the hurt, Mevely. At least I find it so. Forgiving is easy in comparison.

      God bless.

  8. I've got two ex-wives that I really have not forgiven, but I have mostly forgotten them.

You go from hate with a passion to it's over, what is done is done and I am better for not having either in my life. But no, I don't forgive.

    1. Please JoeH, please, forgive them. I accept that the hurt is still there; that is why you cannot forgive. You see what has happened to you, and perhaps to your loved ones, and the hurt starts again and lingers on. This is only natural. The forgiving though, is not always natural. It requires an action from an individual. It requires strength of character. It requires a decision.

Let me ask you something. Do you really wish ill towards these two ex-wives? Do you wish them harm? Would you be happy to hear that some illness or something bad happened to them? If so, how would you feel if they, or someone else, would rejoice at your misfortunes?

Is it not better, and indeed easier, to let the bitterness go and let them be. Deep in your heart, let them be. Pray for them. Ask God to deal with the situation. You cannot possibly hate someone you pray for. So start with that first step. Pray for them.

God bless you my dear friend.

  9. We can't forget, but we can choose to not bring it to mind and to leave them in the Father's hands. Forgiveness also does not always mean reconciliation or the restoration of a relationship. If the person truly did wrong and is not repentant, you don't go back to get used or abused again, you forgive and stay away.

  10. "God has forgiven me! Now I need to forgive myself." Forgiveness is a gift, freely given from our Father. Repentance involves shedding pride.
