    1. I used toilet seat as an example. It could be anything, like a toilet bowl to wear on one's head!

      God bless, Tom.

  2. Ideally, I'm with Tom, Victor. Amazon provides so much convenience, though, I'm always ordering from them. Yes, those "follow-up" and "real-time" updates drive me nuts! God bless!

    1. I don't mind if you buy a book from Amazon and they follow-up with examples of similar books.

      God bless you, Martha.

  3. I'll admit to loving their attention to detail ... but once is enough! After all, how many toilet seats does one require. Do they self-destruct after a certain time?

PS - Now, before I get to complaining about their endless requests for public review, I totally forgot my promise to leave feedback on your latest book. Will do today!

    1. Thank you Mevely for being my most loyal and encouraging supporter. Not only by leaving positive AMAZON Reviews of my books but also by advertising them on your Blog. You bring a smile to my face.

Thank you once more my friend. God bless you and yours, Mevely.

  4. I buy very little online, but when I do it's nice to know when a product has been shipped. I don't particularly need to know the details of its journey.

  5. Oh my goodness the need to know and then the requests for glowing reviews has, in my opinion, gotten out of control. Even our dentist and eye Dr want google reviews. Remember when you would order something knowing it would take 6-8 weeks for delivery and that’s all you knew until you heard the UPS truck with its distinct sound come down your street to deliver your thingamajig. The need for “informed delivery” from USPS baffles me. I prefer to be surprised by my junk mail rather than have a sneak peak before hand. Thanks for you post today. You gave me a good chuckle

    1. Hi Maureen. How nice it is to see you visiting me here. Thank you so much. Please call again soon and often and invite your friends. This is a Christian Blog with humour every now and then too.

As for the Reviews ... I'd be afraid to give my dentist a bad review in case he hurts me next time I visit. I nearly got killed by a dentist years ago. It was late evening and he came at me driving on the wrong side of the road.

      God bless you, Maureen.

  6. We are lucky to be in an area where we have a Home Depot close. However, Amazon delivers it right to the house.
I love Amazon and the follow ups - lol.

    1. Yes, AMAZON is a good firm to deal with. We've had no problems whatsoever. Over here we can collect the items from a Collection Point of our choice, usually a store nearby. So no need for home deliveries and having to be in to receive the item.

      God bless, Sandie.

  8. I kind of like following the journey when ordering on line. Sometimes it makes me laugh at all the places it ends up going!!!

  9. Hi Victor, I am 68 and have never ordered anything online. And I take public transit here in Montreal as well! I prefer to go to the store and see what I want or need and take it with me. If it is something heavy, the store will deliver it to me. :)

    1. It's good that some stores will deliver a heavy item for you, Linda. Here we have home deliveries but for your whole shopping not just some items. Minimum purchase is £40 and the delivery cost could be as low than £1.50 - so it's cheaper than taking the car to the supermarket.

      God bless.

    2. Hi Victor, an example...I purchased a free standing air conditioner at Canadian Tire last summer. They delivered and installed it for me. Of course there is a charge, but for myself it was well worth the $40. Two gentleman brought it and took it out of the box and installed it for me. I was very happy. The air conditioner was on sale for about $300, so that plus the $40 for them to bring it and install it really made my day. :)

    3. Yes I agree Linda. For big household items like fridge, cooker and washing machines, over here the seller always delivers and installs for a small fee. However for food shopping, (milk, bread, dairy, meats etc .. especially heavy tins), the supermarket will only deliver if your whole shopping is more than £40; and they charge an extra £1.50 for delivery.

      God bless.

    4. Oh, I see. Here in Montreal, if you purchase a grocery order (minimum $30), for seniors like myself the cost for them to deliver is $2. For everyone else the delivery cost is $4. So what | do is get a grocery order delivered about every two weeks, this way I don't need to go again for a while. If there are a few things before I get my next order I will just go and buy a few lightweight items and take them with me. So in my case, it works out to make certain that I get pretty much everything I need when I get the delivery, as for just $2 they will bring it right to my door, and I live in a 6th floor apartment.

    5. $2 seems reasonable to me. We do the same here. A big shopping list (£40+) delivered to our door every two weeks or so; and any small items we need we go to a nearby shop and pick it ourselves.

The £1.50 delivery charge is reasonable compared to how much it would cost to go to the supermarket by car and shop ourselves.

      God bless.

  10. Some days it's just easier to drive to the store myself, unless the store doesn't have what I need. Grandma, for example, loves a particular brand of dish detergent you can't get at stores here any longer. Amazon delivers it, but it always leaks so we never get a full bottle.

  11. I enjoyed this post. 😆 I order a lot online and I appreciate the convenience of the Fast Delivery Company. It’s true- you get the initial delivery day and each time they text you, another day is added on. In fact I just placed an order this afternoon and delivery is tomorrow. 24 hours later. Time will tell if they can deliver. 🙃
