Are you following me?

For the past few days there's been someone following me. I went to the library to get a book for my dog and this creature was following me. He carried a large butterfly net. He was not too clever at following me. It was obvious. Every time I turned round he tried to hide. The first time he hid behind a cat. I could still see him. The second time I turned he hid behind a pane of glass two workers were carrying from their van to a nearby shop. He was totally useless at hide-and-seek. I could tell he was following me.

I climbed up a tree. That confused him. When he approached the tree I jumped on him, took his butterfly net and captured him.

I asked him why he was following me. He said he liked what I write but Feedburner will no longer let him follow me after the end of June. He said it was something technical.

So I asked my techie guy. He was too busy fixing my toaster. He explained patiently that in order to make a bacon sandwich I need not put the bacon in the toaster.

As for Feedburner. Apparently some people subscribe to it and get my posts e-mailed to them. I did not know that. It will soon stop e-mailing you if you follow me on Feedburner.

I like your posts. I visit all of you because my techie has put all your Blogs on a file for me entitled Special People.

I go to the file daily and visit all the Blogs he put there. Whether you have posted anything or not.

Why don't you do the same if you like my Blog? Why not tell other people about my Blog too?

If you don't like my Blog, then let's keep it a secret between us.

Thanx. God bless.

    1. All the fat melts and causes sparks and then a big bang and all the electrics don't work any more.

      God bless, Tom.

    2. Cheese should never go in the toaster either, toasted cheese sandwiches are made in a frying pan on the stove top.

  2. Dearest Victor,
You always have your Reading List, showing right below Settings. Or at the bottom of where you go for composing your new post. SIMPLE.
The other way is to add the home URL of blogs you follow.
Go to Layout and Add a Gadget, select from Blog List and then insert the home URL there. You can add as many as you want.
    Quite SIMPLE!
You can have that at the bottom of your blog or on the side...
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. You are very clever, Mariette. Thank you. I'll ask my techie guy to look into it. I was also concerned that those people who follow me on Feedburner will be lost in July when Feedburner stops.

      God bless you.

  3. I do not follow by e-mail. I use Blogger's reading list. I have thought about going to FB with my blog entry daily,
I hope my contact still continues since I FOLLOW your blog.
Take care and careful of the shadows.....

    1. I had to leave FB as I did not understand how it works. I have a list of Blogs I follow, (including yours), put in a folder. My techie says click on each one and I'll find your Blog and that of others. So I can find people, I hope they can find me after 1 July. I'll keep out of the shadows.

      God bless, Jack and Sherry.

  4. A very creative way to point out the issue.

  5. I don't understand why some techs(?) can't leave well enough alone. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Rather than draw more attention to my blog (ie, putting a link on FB) -- and incur the "slings and arrows of outrageous readers" I'm going to let Feedburner burn itself out. My life's more enjoyable in the slow lane.

PS - Of course, that's going to stop me from sharing your posts!

    1. Yikes! That should have read, "NOT going to stop me from sharing." Write on!

    2. I really like your quote about slings and arrows, Mevely. Thanx. I gave up on FB. I did not understand how it works. I agree about techies always changing things. Why not leave well alone.

I hear they are now upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 11. The other day my wife rang me at work. I told her not to wake me up when I'm working; but she phoned all the same. She rang off and sent me a text instead. It said "Windows frozen. Will not open!"

I sent a text saying, "Gently pour luke warm water on it."

She texted back, "Computer really screwed up now. Smoke everywhere. Big bang. Electric power is off!"

Anyway, I too am letting Feedburner R.I.P.

I hope people continue to visit my Blog and sharing them. Thanx for doing so, Mevely. You're a good friend.

      God bless.

    3. 'Slings and arrows'? Actually, I stole that from your sidebar (under Richard the Lion Liver). 😉

  8. I have never used Feedburner. When I find a blog I like I add it to my favourites list, where I can always find it.

  9. It is a pain when these tech people change everything. Maybe there is another subscription post thing you can use to mail news of your blog to those who follow it.
