Taking joy in the Lord is the ultimate measure of success, Victor. If we think that what we have will fulfill us, we will never be happy. Blessings, my friend!
Worshiping the mighty dollar, has surely gotten worse and is highly contagious. When the people at the top tell everyone by their actions that's what important, I sigh and wonder how much worse it will become. ((HUGS)) By the way, LOVED the first song, that alone is inspirational.
Yes, it seems the world has become more materialistic and less religious. This is an old tape recording of my days on the radio when I presented a Christian program called "Time for Reflections". The first song was sung by a British comedian called Ken Dodd. I'm glad you liked it, Sandy.
I liked the song - it did make me happy. Was that you giving the sermon? I didn't think you would sound like that - seemed to me - more Irish and not so much England - but what do I know? Great message and very true. And it is an important message that will never die.
Yes Sandie, that was me. It was a few minutes from a radio program I used to present years ago. The program was about an hour long with me talking and playing Christian records and music. The program was called "Time for Reflections" - hence the title of this Blog. Sometimes I had live guests who came and talked or were interviewed; for example Father Francis Maple who used to bring his guitar and sing. I have a few very old tapes of the programs which I have managed to save from deterioration over the years and transferred them to digital sound.
The song "Happiness" was made famous by a British comedian called Ken Dodd. The second song is the 23rd Psalm sang by another comedian called Harry Secombe.
I remember that song, "Happiness"! Yes, it makes me 'Glad All Over' (apologies to the Dave Clark 5). I really enjoyed your message -- the Greatest Story ever told!
Oh yes ... I remember the Dave Clark 5. I didn't know they were famous in the USA. I used to play their records on my other radio program - The Aardvark Show!
Thanx for your kind words, Mevely. Always encouraging.
Querido amigo, hermoso video.
TRANSLATION: Dear friend, beautiful video. I think money is part of happiness, because I don't think a family that doesn't have money to feed their children can be happy. Not greed, avarice, we have to share with those who don't have anything. That's happiness, giving without expecting anything in return. I wish you with all my heart a happy weekend, full of love and joy. I send you all my love and kisses.
Thank you Poemas del Alma. Yes; I agree with you, people need money to feed themselves and their family; and indeed this results in "happiness".
However, in today's world people have become greedy and they want more at the expense of others who are poor. True happiness is to share what we have with others - as Jesus commanded.
Scientists did the research and found out money does buy happiness, if you are giving the money away. Really. If you are being generous, it makes you happy!
...sadly, today money can be a part of happiness.
ReplyDeleteSadly ... you are right.
DeleteGod bless, Tom.
I agree with Tom. Some people are struggling and it’s going to get worse.
ReplyDeleteWe should help as best we can and can afford.
DeleteGod bless, CM.

Where does the "buck" stop. I don't think it does with people grabbing all they can and still want more. Sad!
ReplyDeleteYes, I noticed that people have become more greedy as well as materialistic. God bless you, Bill.
