Meerkats

Many animals teach their young. Birds, lions, cats and so on. But did you know that meerkats actually hold classes for their young and make the lessons more difficult in order to teach their young?

They first give their young a dead scorpion and teach them to attack it and kill it. Then they give them a live scorpion with the sting removed so they can actually fight it with no danger to the young. Then they give them a live poisonous scorpion and supervise the fight to protect their offspring.

Now I wonder, how many human parents teach their children of the difficulties and dangers they will encounter in life?

  3. I'd no idea! To answer your question, too few parents (including myself) ever practiced these lessons. Thankfully, we have a Father in Heaven who's always there for us.

  5. You can only share your experiences with danger to your kids. There are so many today and I think the biggest lesson you can teach is to be aware and pay attention. Too many crazies out there and you never know when a crisis will arise.
